Breathtaking hypocrisy.
He must of mentioned that people must obey, respect and honour the law 8-10 times!! Helloooooooooo
Then he called on his supporters to take action, but wasn't man enough to come out and actually say it. He said something along the lines of "my supporters must uphold democracy ................. it may be painful for a while, but best in the long run".
Pathetic man.

BANGKOK (AFP) – Thai police on Friday ordered protesters to immediately leave one of Bangkok's besieged airports, as anti-government leaders rejected last-ditch attempts to negotiate an end to the crisis.
A police officer at the domestic Don Mueang airport, which was seized late Wednesday, read out an order to demonstrators a day after Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat declared a state of emergency .
"All protesters must... leave the rally site otherwise law enforcement officers will carry out appropriate and necessary measures to solve the situation," the order said.
As fears of bloody clashes escalated, the founder of the protest movement rejected a personal plea from the premier to hold talks to end the occupation of Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi international airport.
"Today the prime minister contacted me on the telephone to negotiate. There are no talks," Sondhi Limthongkul told supporters at Don Mueang, insisting that he was not afraid of a police crackdown.
A Hole.

Panic over people.
Thai Airways operates special flight for haj pilgrims
Thai Airways International (THAI) arranged a special charter flight Friday to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from Had Yai Airport to accommodate hundreds of Thai-Muslim haj pilgrims who were stranded in Bangkok by the airport closure.
"So far we have managed to arrange just one charter flight, with a capacity for 250 passengers," said a THAI spokeswoman.
The TG8534 flight, departing from Had Yai Airport Friday afternoon will use an Airbus A300-600 aircraft to fly direct to Jeddah.

ASTV Anchor Rutthawut Mitrmak takes cover as he hears gunshots and explosions outside the ASTV studios.
The ASTV studios were attacked at around 2 A.M. last night. M-79 bombs, which were followed by gunfire, were launched at ASTV headquarters while ASTV News1 was broadcasting live from its studio.
Anchor Nutthawut Mitrmak took cover under the desk as assailants opened fire into the studio and several other sections of the building. He was slightly injured by broken glass.

Sadly Buksida and others I have a horrible feeling that you are being wildly optimistic here. PAD have clearly only one aim and that is to provoke a coup. PM has now taken up residence in Chiang Mai and the 'Red Shirts' spokespeople are threatening to take action if there is a coup. You can also interpret Thaksins latest words to his supporters to as a rallying cry for the battle ahead.
I fear whoever said they thought a civil war could ensue could be scarily close to the truth here. How can you allow a precedent to be set that if you don't like the government that gets elected you provoke a coup to remove them.
We desperately need some new names and new thinkers here but it looks a remote hope. I sincerely fear that only a statement by the king will avert the situation escalating out of control.
I would love to see both PAD and PPP disbanded and everyone that has ever been involved with either should be banned from being involved in any new parties.
Sincerely hope I am being way too pessimistic, hold tight for a scary few days I think.

I just found this slight sensationalism on the Internet.
Thailand has made the list of the Top 20 Most Dangerous Places as compiled by the Telegraph newspaper of London.
The latest edition of the list puts Thailand as the seventh most-dangerous spot for travellers behind Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, South Africa, Somalia and Sudan. Thailand is said to be more dangerous than Colombia and Haiti at the moment.
I might go for a relaxing break in Mumbai.

It would appear the situation will be concluded very soon.

"Chinese Gov’t Arrests Babies for “Defeatist” Melamine Intolerance"
BEIJING - In the wake of the tainted-milk scandal which has killed five babies and sickened over 20,000, the Chinese government has stepped up its response, arresting over a dozen persons involved in the manufacturing, increasing testing of milk samples, and recalling over 100 consumer products. This week they widened the scope of their public-relations campaign by also arresting the 20,000 sick babies and their parents.
“These babies, who already enjoy the privileges of being the one child in their respective families, have shown a disappointing lack of national pride with their melamine intolerance,” said Sheng Hui, a spokesperson for the Chinese FDA. “Their swift and cowardly capitulation in the face of the melamine invader is reflective of a defeatist attitude and cannot be tolerated lest it degrade the security of the state.” As of press time, all babies released from hospital were taken directly to local prisons for re-education.
The parents of the sickened, unpatriotic children were detained for questioning and for knowingly passing on weak immune systems to the Chinese people.

You might be right because surprisingly it now looks like it’s the PAD that are being backed into a corner by the fact that the Constitutional court has set December 2nd as the closing date for statements in the party dissolution hearings.buksida wrote:I have a very strong feeling it'll be over in the next couple of days, the army will be in control, the government disbanded and the airport open and operational by Tuesday. PAD have some very powerful allies and financial backers.
I did make preditcions for 2008 about this time last year and most of them have come true.
That means that if the government simply does nothing for a few more days, they can go with grace following the inevitable result and get ready for the subsequent elections under a different name.
This will leave the PAD little choice but to go home and await the result of the election.
If they want to force their pseudo-dictatorship on the people, they have just a few more days to goad the army into seizing power.
That might be a difficult thing to do now that the government is in Chang Mai surrounded by supporters, which could make a bloodless coup highly unlikely.
And having a coup all by yourself in Bangkok could just lead to a dangerously divided nation.
