Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
The reporting of surges in Covid-1984 cases is sorely lacking. Why is there no detailed reporting of these facts? 1. How many of these "new" cases are simply testing positive for antibodies (asymptomatic)? 2. How many of these "new" cases are people actually requiring treatment? ...

Re: Eye Specialist
I went to Dr Pairat a week or 2 ago seeking info from my medical record requested by my insurance company. The Doc working was not Pairat, but a much younger man. No idea if Doc #2 was a temporary stand-in or if Dr Pairat has cut back on his daily involvement in the practice.

Are medicine expiration dates meaningful?
Not always. Analysis of a cache of decades-old prescription medications discovered in a retail pharmacy has revealed that the potency of most of their ingredients was undiminished even though their expiration dates had passed years earlier. The researchers worked with samples of 8 medications that h...

Re: Chinese boy falls to death from Phuket rooftop pool
The parent has a responsibility to supervise children. In this case, short of putting the child on a leash, I wonder what else the parent could have done - kids are fast. The parent shouted, the boy turned and slipped. Parents have the responsibility to protect their children. A responsible one wou...

Can anyone translate any of this document?
My Doc at HH Hospital scheduled a procedure. Gave me pre-procedure written instructions. In Thai. Said they don't have it in English. Today I'll make copies, then ask 3 Thais for the favor of translating it. I'm also asking the collective knowledge that is HH Forum. Photos of each half of the page a...

Re: Living with a severe nut allergy in Hua Hin
Consider some of the assumptions one with a severe allergy must make: - The written translation is accurate - All who must understand it speak Thai - All who must understand it are literate - Peanuts (and others?) are diced. Kitchen staff will make the connection of diced nuts to a picture of a whol...

Re: Global ATM attack anticipated
'Cashout' is the industry's name for such an attack. One happened in India last weekend. They're always done at banks with gaping security flaws, which are usually the smaller ones. They virtually always happen on weekends because it takes longer for the bank to realize what's happening. They always...

Re: Aspirin
I'm not sure what you're referring to (nitroglycerin perhaps?) but aspirin should never be held in the mouth. In the same way that it can damage the stomach lining, it can cause serious tissue damage to the soft tissues in the mouth. You're not sure what he referred to - but it didn't that stop you...
