Re: cost of prescriptions in hua hin
D-M, Thanks for that suggestion. I appreciate the hospital want to make it appear as though it all has to be done 'in-house'. I was glad to collect the meds and arrange future blood test with them. Subsequently, In the necessary interest of long term economy, I will try the alternative. I had checke...

Re: cost of prescriptions in hua hin
I know it is not within the range of meds the OP asked about but I AM having to pay for 'prescription' drugs. I have to take an immune suppressant for an autoimmune condition. Blood tests every 6 months minimum are needed to check white cell levels and state of play within body. I can only get 3 mon...

Just started to use HiFx for transfers. Will see how it goes. No charge over £3K and £9 fee under.

Re: Visa for brother
Visa back from Hull yesterday. Posted Wednesday back Saturday. Multi entry non imm O. So, showing £15K in Uk account in lieu of £900 per month income, seems another way to go. I only sent print out for that day's balance and got bank to stamp it. Not a full monthly statement.

Re: Visa for brother
Thanks lomu for that detailed reply. Yes - is answer to your first question. I have a guaranteed annuity on the pension but only if taken after 60 ( in 2 years time) It sounded like a discretionary process about the £15K. Seemed like they wanted a demonstration of sufficient funds at least in UK - a...

Re: Visa for brother
Hi Advocate, Is that a reply to my post? I was just talking about getting the Non Imm visa in UK. I was told to get that I needed to furnish the UK bank statement. She wasn't talking about the Thai end of things. Did I get it wrong?

Re: Visa for brother
Hi, I am applying for my Non Imm O visa tomorrow. For the next 2 years I plan to be in Thailand and living off some of the proceeds of next month's house sale here in UK. Now that I have stopped work, this is to be sole source of funds until modest private pension starts at 60 years. Lady at Hull to...

Mr Plum, that was an inspiring post from the heart. True happiness can only come from within and sums up Buddhist philosophy. As a professed Buddhist, this is an underscoring element in my wish to move to Thailand. During Vipassana retreats in Chiang Mai - I have witnessed the busy, craving nature ...

Thanks for 'welcomes'. Yep, if I have right name of beach, after a bit of a stroll away from the car park it was pretty quiet. Clean sand, gentle slope - ideal for a 3 year old to play. Shade from the pines. Certainly relative to what I saw in ChaAm on a Saturday or other tourist resorts in Thailand...
