I have to say had i been on holiday during this drink ban period i would have been rather upset.

Were the larger hotels not even serving a tipple?

What has happened with this place??? I heard it all kicked off one night in there one night and has now been closed for the time being!!!

Can anyone shed any light on this??? Used to enjoy a tipple in there.

I am coming to Hua Hin later in the year and as i am travelling around thailand will be staying in budget accomodation.

Without meaning to sound like a ponse, what are the chances of sneaking in for a swim and sunbath in the hilton??

i found this in hu hin last year too

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of staff at the Hilton recently. I got a good rate thru the internets and was upgraded on arrival. I had forgotten how pleasant it is to pick up a phone and ask a question/make an order and receive what I ordered or asked for. A pleasant & rather novel ...

Im off to Hua Hin with a mate in September and want to know if anyone has recoomendations for accomodation for about 4/5 nights. I want to pay around about 600-900 baht for a room per night and preferably with a safety deposit box. Lotation near the hilton would be preferablt too.

A nice little trick i learnt is to strategically position certain items of value (including money )in different areas of a room.

Easier said then done when your 10 large beers down the line i know but make the effort....it may just save you a few quid.

There is a plentiful choice of girls in Hua Hin although the nicest ones invariably are those who aproach you & as matey said, i find them kinder and friendlier then bangkok types

Stepz & the Hua Hin 'Brewing Company' are good lively spots although you will pay a premium for the pleasure of being in these establishments.

That sounds like just the sort of place which i want to stayin in September.

How long does the train take for this journey and is there a bus which offers the same service?

i took an air condtioned mini bus from bangkok to hua hin last year and it was a very comfortable ride
