Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates

Emirates no longer require pcr test if transiting through dubai, but it depends on country of destination rules. Before you travel Transiting passengers are not required to present a COVID 19‑PCR test certificate unless it is mandated by their final destination. Passengers booked with Dubai Connect/...

Re: Binthabat/karaoke Areas

Tina bar is open from 4pm at the moment, there are a handful of bars open in binta.
A few next to Tina bar, nice and easy and u turn.
Terrible sight to see so much gone from that area but I suppose if tourists start returning others may find new owners.

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates

I used randox simply because there are so many cowboy companies doing this and people were not getting their results or certificates in time, like I said I booked the 12 hour and had result and certificates in 3 hours. When I booked there were loads of slots so maybe a lot busier now. Another plus w...

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates

When I flew in to Thailand 17th Jan you needed a pcr test within 72 hours before you fly, but my problem changed when Emirates said a week before flying they wanted pcr within 48 hours of flying. Got mine done by randox at a hotel just outside Heathrow Airport on the bath road, cost around 70 quid f...

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates

In reply to Danny boy, yet the OP put it in the 600 Baht a night category? Although price is no guarantee that you won’t get scammed, the potential risk is bound to be higher at a budget hotel. Looking back I’m glad that when I returned last November I dug deeper into my pocket and stayed at a 5* ho...

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates

I was in the same boat, flew back to the UK 18th January 2020 and this was my first opportunity to return.
Hopefully things will get better now but such a shame to see so many businesses gone including my favourite restaurant Khun oi.

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates

As an add on, this former hotel is now leased to the hospital in question which is probably better not to name. It is a quarantine registered hotel now so maybe that's why someone posted 2.400bth per night. But christ is run down with a half empty pool of green stagnant water. I'm guessing it went b...

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates

OK just to clear up a couple of issues, I was told as I have my own house in hua hin I could quarantine after 5 days at home by the hospital. Although I effectively had 2 insurance one of which they demanded the cover note (policy)as soon as they said I tested positive they actually did nothing with...

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates

I recently flew into Thailand after having a negative pcr test at Heathrow and on my insistence another one in dubai as I stopped there for 2 days. On arrival in Bangkok I was taken by minibus first to a local hospital for another pcr test then back to my one night quarantine Hotel. Result, positive...
