Re: The Chicken Bone Man

When my mom was eating limburger cheese she used to say, “don’t knock it if you havn’t tried it” - but get there first for best choices.

Re: MSG inThai food

If you would like to eat TSP it is one of the ingredients in Cheerios - listed right on the package. Unbeatable stain remover and degreaser but I doubt anyone would want to sprinkle it on their meal. Some people would say they would not eat paraffin wax. But it is the principal ingredient in chocola...

Re: Electrical installation advice.

I would be concerned about all the breakers being 32 Amp. Not necessarily for safety, as he probably doesn’t have a wood house, but that does not even protect the wire runs let alone whatever appliances and fixtures he has. It is almost same as having no circuit breakers at all. If a wire run gets c...

Re: MSG inThai food

Like the article says, the MSG that already is present naturally in some foods is an amino acid, is OK and is good. “However, it is industrially processed and hydrolysed when manufactured for consumption, thus turning it into a neurotoxin” - Its the processed stuff that is bad news. Especially for p...

Re: Thai Fresh Eggs

HHTel » Wed Aug 08, 2018 5:18 pm Eggs are embryos, after being refrigerated they are dead so need to stay refrigerated. Contradicted below but not because the embryo is dead: No, after eggs are refrigerated, it is important they stay that way. Maintaining a consistent, cool temperature is critical ...

Re: Thai Fresh Eggs

Put an egg in water - the fresher it is the taster it will sink, rotten eggs will float. The older an egg is the more it will spread out when you crack it into the pan. A fresh egg has heavier consistency and will spread out very little when cracked into the pan. Eggs are embryos, after being refrig...

Simply because we are not allowed to post links to forums which compete with HHF………….And I thought that the article is not uninteresting If a book or article seems interesting or important to you that doesn’t justify to copy and paste the whole ball of wax. Bait people’s interest by picking out the...

Re: Hotel Customer Behaviors Towards Sustainability

With reference to sustainability - why do so many forum users seem unaware that web space is not infinite, and develop habits of cut and pasting almost entire websites or magazine articles that no one is going to read when a simple link would do the job - if somone is interested in reading it.... Or...

Re: Local TV via aerial transmission - still available?

looks good. Your news and footwork will be helpful and appreciated by other people who already have an antenna. Altho my preference would be satellite its no trouble at all to just slip that box into your existing setup and digital should receive a cleaner better signal than what you had before. The...

Article again, 3 August 2018, in The Nation bringing up the subject of rabies. Principally dealing not so much with the unvaccinated strays that pass it around but outlining the author’s take on the usual way that humans become infected. Written by a public relations officer for the Soi Dog Foundati...

Re: Local TV via aerial transmission - still available?

Never belonged to Amateur Radio Society. Those guys seem to just want to talk about their rigs and antennas and who they jabbered with. Had my license mostly because I was cruising the world. Tall masts with 9/16” stays so they were a nice inverted “V” and perfect ground plane as it was a steel boat...

Re: Local TV via aerial transmission - still available?

That one does show Red, white and yellow AVI plugs for connection to the TV. Make sure your Tv does have the same. Like VincentD pointed out, most newer TVs have gone to HDMI and discontinued them With coax it is important on outdoor connrctions that they are well sealed so water does not penatrate ...

Re: Local TV via aerial transmission - still available?

The dish itself is just a reflector. The actual signal receiver is aimed at it and is clamped into the end of the tube that extends out from it. Ours was a complete setup but we did not use the included dish as there was already one on the house and larger, so more efficient than the one that was in...
