I'm just wondering if there is a media outlet out there that covers Thailand, that is recommended?
Khaosod English is no more as far as a print outlet is concerned. The Thaiger just regurgitates stories from elsewhere, The Nation is a joke, The Bangkok Post is not much better these days and only The Thai Enquirer is seemingly independent on what it reports on - but it's reportage is limited.
Have I missed any? Is there any from a neighbouring Country or within the region that provides an almost up to date news service?
I'm not really after opinion pieces, there are plenty of those on-line. Just updates on day to day events, with some independence
Thanks.

Re: Good media outlet for Thailand
There are none based in Thailand for obvious reasons.
The Enquirer is based in the U.S. and run by the Thai diaspora as far as I know so they can publish more of the truth than anything based here.
Channel News Asia is a good outlet based in Singapore that covers the region. The Straits Times, also Singapore is also worth a look.

Asia Times out of Hong Kong occasionally covers Thai-related news and the Asia Sentinel also hits the mark now and then.
https://asiatimes.com/
https://www.asiasentinel.com/
Hong Kong's SCMP is good but limited Thailand coverage.

There is also the Thai Examiner but not sure who they're affiliated with.

Your comments on the Thaiger, BKP, and Nation are pretty spot on, and ThaiPBS is just a government mouthpiece.

I've always assumed that it's based outside of Thailand because of it's content. However, various sources, including Wiki state that it's based in BKK.The Enquirer is based in the U.S. and run by the Thai diaspora as far as I know so they can publish more of the truth than anything based here.
