I watched it the other day - very interesting. I knew he'd been a pretty ordinary member of the intelligence community, but I had no idea of his fascinating family background.

Thoroughly enjoying Wilderness with Simon Reeves, thanks to whoever recommended that. Time to plan that Patagonia trip before I get too old.

Go to Peru first! Machu Picchu needs those cameras of yours!

Machu Picchu, site of ancient Inca ruins located about 50 miles (80 km) northwest of Cuzco, Peru, in the Cordillera de Vilcabamba of the Andes Mountains.

I am guessing that the following is the attraction? There was a documentary awhile ago about two lads doing this.

Talking Comedy - Pete and Dud

Not really a documentary, but still... It serves as a nice reminder of the hugely funny and talented pairing of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.

I downloaded a couple of these recently from a series called "Histories Greatest Myths" - must admit I've enjoyed them and well worth a watch IMHO. :thumb:

Sir David at his finest again in the latest BBC wildlife documentary, Mammals.

All are available in high-res on EZTV.

Searching for Sugar Man
2012
PG-13
1h 26m

In the early 1970s, Sixto Rodriguez was a Detroit folksinger who had a short-lived recording career with only two well received but non-selling albums. Unknown to Rodriguez, his musical story continued in South Africa where he became a pop music icon and inspiration for generations. Long rumored there to be dead by suicide, a few fans in the 1990s decided to seek out the truth of their hero's fate. What follows is a bizarrely heartening story in which they found far more in their quest than they ever hoped, while a Detroit construction laborer discovered that his lost artistic dreams came true after all.—Kenneth Chisholm (kchishol@rogers.com)

I was absolutely blown away by this Oscar winning documentary. I just can't stop playing his songs. He could have been the Dylan of the 70's but for a crappy record company.

I'm watching a nature doc series on iPlayer called Big Cats. It does what it says on the tin. It's a sequential narrative from one episode to the next and quite enthralling.

I’ve been watching it too, a very interesting big cat documentary - made even more interesting for me by the fact that one of my sons is returning today from a 10 day trip to Botswana where this programme was filmed. I doubt that he would have got as close up to what these guys did, but if I get any good photos from him, I’ll post them.

Something else I've just started watching following a recommendation from my sister: The Great War, an enhanced 1964 BBC documentary. Very promising.

Paddy and Chris: Road Tripping
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00231 ... des/player

Battling with being 50, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris are on a quest to crack the code of ageing well, travelling to various European countries. Enjoyed this as I'm exactly the same age, facing the same things. The answer seems to be lower stress levels and more travel!
