Steering Lock

Post by Don East Stand »

Hi :thumb:

Wondering if anyone knows (I don't) ..... What is the purpose of the "Steering Lock" on your car? :?

I'm talking about when you switch the engine off and the steering is automatically locked.

It’s supposed to make it more difficult to steal the car - if they manage to hot-wire it and drive away, the lock mechanism would stop them, but I’m sure any car thief worth his salt, if he can break into your car and hot-wire it, he’ll be able to break the lock!!
