Photos: climbing Khao Lom Muak, Ao Manao, Prachuap

Harder than it looks this climb took almost an hour, the first half is steps then you have to use a rope to climb the rest, a reasonable standard of fitness is required. The stunning views over Prachuap town at the top well worth it though.

Great photos! Any commercial flights into that airport or is it all military?

All military.

About a thousand feet - though it felt higher!

I have considered the climb several times, but the need to use ropes has always put me off. I hadn't realised the ropes are static, and fixed. I might consider it soon.

It certainly looks worth the effort.

No commercial flights and very few military, essentially helicopters from time to time.

I climbed it this morning and met an American man in his sixties, living in Prachuap city, who told me he does it 3 times every morning... It took me about one hour, stopping to take pictures and enjoy the views, and I saw the man on his way up and down 2 times.
I will not compete with Buksida's beautiful pictures, just add a few details.

Great photo's guys. I winter in Prachuap and was reluctant to give it a go as I have a bit of a bum leg. After seeing these pics I'll definitely climb it next trip.

As far as I know it is open all the time. But I wouldn't recommend the climb in wet weather.

I was told it's only open at weekends now and public holidays. No idea how true that is.
