Car Registration Costs

Post by Governor »

Can anyone advise me how much it should cost to register a new car, a Mazda 3, 1.6, and obtain the white plates.

I appreciate that the dealer should do all this for you, but I think the price I am being advised is far higher than it should be.

Thanks

Governor,

If you have purchased the car new from a dealer, then the cost of getting the white plates should be included in the purchase price. This is payable by the dealer.

I might be wrong here, but from memory, my pick up purchased 1 year ago cost approx 6,000 to register.

Other info welcome

If you're talking about the plates and blue book I've just dug mine out and the price is printed in there every time you renew it. Ours was 1,776 baht and its been the same for the following two years since we bought the car.
