If you reply to this thread or any other and want to add a pic it will.

If you want to enter the competition you need to click one of the two links in the first post: "Enter the Hua Hin POM June 07". Then it goes to a hidden forum for the Moddys to select the entrants.

At the moment we don't have enough to run the comp :|

Thats the point, its a hidden forum where the Moddys choose the entrants, we got them ok.

Seems not to be that userfriendly. Maybe the better way would be to point people to imageshack which provides forum code for the pics and the pics can be seen publicly in the thread?

I'm not sure setting up an account and uploading images to a third party site is any more user friendly than letting people upload them here with a couple of clicks.

3 simple steps and its done, the only thing we haven't done is enable it to every member, its on request. Once people get used to the idea that they cant see the entrants to the competition until we run the thing it'll be easy.

Any other pictures they want to upload in posts are no problem.

No signup required actually. Well we'll see if the entries flood in. If they don't then I think you'll see that I'm right on this occasion.

It has been setup this way so we can control who gets to upload and what gets uploaded, on a third party site we have no control and could rapidly see this turning into a party for porn spammers. However if people wish to use Imageshack we won't stop them.

There are a few entries already though nothing from yourself yet.

Why are JW's pics displayed but no one else's pics are displayed? Confused?

Because JW posted them in a regular thread. If you click the link "Enter the POM comp" in the first post in this thread they will go into a hidden section as already explained.

All I have is a few pics of the rain which I'm sure other people have too so there's nothing really worth submitting.

Regarding porn spammers, you haven't disabled the img tag so if they were going to spam they'd have done so by now.

Ok, if you want to go ahead and post the instructions for ImageShack feel free the more options the better I guess.

I think one of the main problems people have is resizing the photos, especially if they're downloading off a 6MP camera.

I found this site quite handy for that : www.shrinkpictures.com

Imageshack shrinks them for you.

I'll sort instructions once my net connection stops pissing about.
