I saw Santana live once at Knebworth, back in 1980. They were fantastic. But I don't currently have any of their music and I must put that right as I loved their sound. I listen a lot to the original Black Magic Woman, by Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac, as I love that period of the bands music, I am actually playing them in my car right now. Anyway, it sounds like he will be okay, so good news.

I don't live far from Chepstow Castle in South Wales (UK) which holds various events. One of which is the annual "Castel Roc" concert which is held over several days presenting (very good) "Tribute Bands". Tonight is "Fleetwood Bac" and "The Bohemians" - fairly obvious who's music they're playing!! Unfortunately I can't make it to the concerts itself this year, but luckily enough can sit in the garden listening to the music with a couple of drinks and view the rugby (online and on mute!).....

A good evening it has to be said!! :thumb:

If you have the internet, you have their music. This is one of my favourites:

He always has great players and singers. Excellent arrangements and I find all of his solos to be similar. I think his main attribute is as a band leader, similar to Miles Davis, who brings/brought out the best in his fellow musicians.

For pharvey, with thanks.

EDIT: My God, I used to sing quite well, but I'd kill for a voice like that.

Loretta Lynn dies at age 90

Many on here may have never heard of her. She is a major reason, if not the major reason, that country music exists as the popular genre it has become. RIP

listening to Ladysmith Black Mabozo, in particular a song called Mbube originally written in 1931 the composer never recieied royalties until a few years ago Disney were sued and royalties paid to his descendants. You will recognise the song but under a different name Mbube means lion..

Been watching "Coming to America"?

.
Seriously though, being brought up in Africa I do have a love of the music and song.

One memory was "IPI-TOMBI" which was an (in)famous stage musical which I saw with family many times - a firm favorite of my dear departed father.....

Well worth a look!
