Sporadic Electricity Outages

Per the above, we all have them lasting from 1-2 seconds, to a minute or less. I guess it's the time the system takes to transfer the current from the problem source to a different transformer or line.

I've been told many times that the "toke" (shortest 1-2 second outage) vs a "Daup" (longer) is the most dangerous for your electronics. I've never had a problem with electronics though because of these occurrences, and our breaker strips have never triggered to off because of them.

Perhaps they are cheap breaker strips, or the whole concern is a myth.

Anyone have any bad experiences?

Many. I have a room full of fried electronics and dead circuit boards in BS where the frequent outages are caused by exploding transformers (we unplug anything not in use now).

I used to think power outages were a Bangsaphan affliction, with 2-3 major ones every week. But over the past week or so, we've had one almost every day between 3 and 4pm in Hua Hin.

Not surprising its the second highest cause of complaints in Thailand.
