Accomodation Needed In September

Hi Guys and Gals,

Coming to Hua Hin for the first time in September for 10 nights - as you will see from my introduction I am no stranger to the LOS, I am looking for some accommodation for my trip. I am not into the big posh chain hotel like the Dusit or the Marriot etc.

To give you some idea of the type of place I like when visit Pattaya I normally stay at the Chaiyapoon Apartments on Soi Chaiyapoon (Soi Pothole) and normally pay around the 850Baht mark.

What can you good people recommend please.

Firstly, recommendations may be hard to come by because many of us live here and don't use hotels.

You really need to be a bit more specific e.g. location in Hua Hin - do you want to be in or out of the bar area?

My experience (13 years ago) is budget hotels here are slightly dearer than Pattaya. Having said that we had about 40 visitors earlier this year stay at the Initial on Soi 94, and they paid less than your budget. They were all satisfied with the hotel, which has a small pool and is in the heart of the bar area.

Anyone know what the Royal Pavilion is like ? Is it in a good location and is it girl friendly

Smile Hotel is about that budget and good location for Soi94 bar areas. Alternatively La Casita Condo is great location and newish

I saw a review of the rooms and facilities in Royal Pavilion on youtube recently, and I was surprised how nice it all looked. Location is just off the main road running throught town, with the entrance to one side, a cut through I often use! Its almost opposite soi55, which will take you right into the entertainment area in a couple of minutes and through there to the main beach area. If all you intend to do is to stay central then it's pretty good really, bar crossing the Petchkasem Road, but there are lights at the junction you would use.

I've never been inside, but I've had a few visitors stay there. They were always happy. In fact when I saw SouthportPat ask, my initial thought was that's going to hit his 850฿ budget hard. I checked out prices, and based upon what visitors have said, I was amazed at how cheap the hotel is.

I stayed at Pavillion last August.
I was one of 7 guests staying at the hotel.
It’s GF (I did book for 2 people).
Room was smelly, food was poor, location is good, staff were pleasant.
I would stay elsewhere and pay a bit more as I am doing this trip.

Quite a fewpeople I know have stayed at Seamira on the road parrallel to the rr tracks south of Ban Khon Por food stalls. I know a few long term residents there and the rates are very reasonable. Clean nice place with friendly staff. It does get busy though.

If you have a bike and want to be out of the town about a kilometer (up Soi 88), both the Veerawan and the Precious are cheap (600-800), clean and quiet. Bar area in 94 is a couple of minutes ride away.

I told a friend of this one because it looked good.

He contacted them for a 77 night period, and their cheapest room for that period was 2,011฿/night.

8,xxx must be for the lowest grade room they have, only in the depths of the low season.

I know someone who lives there, and his monthly rent is about 8k on a long-term contract. The further away from the tracks you go, the cheaper the rents. Veerawan is just 4k per month.

Anyhoo ... the OP is looking for just ten days and there are plenty of places around this area under a grand a night.

Think I am going to go with the Initial Hotel on Soi 94 - everyone seems to be pointing me in the right direction, I did like the look of the Veranda Beach Hotel but a bit worried how far out it is.

Change of plans I understand there is major road works going on in Soi94 near the Initial Hotel - decided to slash out a bit and booked in at The G Hotel

Anyone stayed there - would like to hear from anyone that has - how far to beach ?, Girl Friendly ? any inhouse massage or do they allow visit massage any info would be appreciated

Hope you're doing okay, Southport has been in the news for the last couple of days.
Last time I stayed (pre-CoVid) was opposite the Centara (was called something else at the time; even stayed there a night but too many hisos for my liking) at some place called the Orchid(?) a little up from Papa John's. Probably called something else these days. Had to park on the street, too, originally could park inside but they built up the carpark. Have stayed at Hin Suay Nam Sai ( nice pool, but need transport), Dusit similar and a bit pricey. City Beach is central but has been overtaken by the newer boutique places. The Melia (now Hilton) had a nice heated pool and a poolside bar.. But I digress.
There are nice places in town that aren't too expensive, within easy reach of Soi Poonsuk and Bintabaht. But the places up near Soi 80 are not as pricey as far as nightlife goes.
I'll need to mosey on down one of these days, been a while.
