Turn off the lights for “Earth Hour” tomorrow

After seeing this month's leccy bill, I think we should have one of these every day.

This seems to be a worldwide initiative between 8:30pm and 9:30pm tomorrow. As they say, "Every little helps.)

They would really get better results if it was held before the hot season arrived. Lights are one thing, sitting in pool of sweat is another matter.

Thailand (well Bangkok) is no doubt the same, but when I was living in Chongqing (China) I could be walking 10 meters or so away from the open doors of a shopping center and be blasted by low,low temperature AC. People would gather around simply to cool down from the summer heat that was 40 deg plus.

Simply increasing the min temperature and closing the bloody doors/creating a barrier in these massive Shopping Arcades would do far more good that switching the lights off for an hour in some houses....

During my early years in Chongqing, I was installing equipment at a local Power Plant - you wouldn't believe the energy pull during the summer months.
