Yeah, this village was a little 'feral' to say the least. The rest of the city was shiny, clean, and functional.

HaHa, I've obviously gone native - it looked quite normal

People do tend to 'go native' quickly living in Thailand and quickly forget how things are supposed to work in developed countries (aside from that shitty wiring). Of all the beautiful views in that area, all the comments are about a photo of corroded cables.

Yes but it was because everything else looked so good that the wiring stood out!!

Thanks for the pictures of Korea – they brought back good memories. I lived and worked there from 2008-2015.

Your pictures of the entrance to Texas Street also brought back some memories. In a prior life, when I first saw the Texas Street area back in the early seventies, I remember muddy roads. During one visit a typhoon changed course and started heading towards Pusan/Busan. The ship I was stationed aboard had to head out to sea to ride out the storm and many of us could not make it back to the ship in time, so we were told to shelter in place. Many of us took shelter in the Texas Street area. Although not quite as entertaining as Olongapo, Texas Street was considered to be good liberty.

I heard that it was eventually placed off-limits to U.S. Sailors and Marines, and that many Russians had now moved into the area.

From Gamcheon it was another bus to Songdo Beach for a ride on the ‘Busan Air Cruise’ cable car. Just like in Japan, there is no dual pricing in Korea and attractions are cheaper to enter than Thailand with this ride costing just 13,000 won (around 350 baht). The sky ride gave us stunning views of the city and its bridges and beaches.

How did you find your new camera compared to your old one - both seems to produce stunning results?

The new one is much better in low light conditions due to the upgraded sensor. It is also a lot smaller and lighter so easier to carry around for a day's shooting. However, the battery life isn't anywhere near as good due to the electronic viewfinder and big screen. I think I'll keep both for different situations and to save switching lenses out so often ...

DSC_0374 - is that a damaged cliffside walkway?

The statues look huge, or is that an illusion created by camera angle please?

Your first guess was right, the walkway had partially collapsed and hadn't been repaired so was sealed off to the public.

The big statues are an illusion, they were a little larger than a person.

The statues look very impressive in the photos. After seeing the photos of the Vietnamese highway supported by a giant hand, I was wondering if the Koreans had gone one step further with their cable cars.
