I've tried that senior's price in various places. Always get the same answer - "Thais only".

That's unlucky because we have benefited from it several times, even when we didn't know about it we were told "oh you old get special price"

OK, maybe that is why Mrs BB was charged 20฿. However, that simply re-enforces the resentment/confusion created by Thailand's dual pricing.

Fully agree when dual prices, specially when they write in thai numbers, we just turn round regardless the amount as it just gets up my nose

Locally, I simply turn around. If I've travelled, as I had for this visit, I will pay to go in once. It isn't the cost that bothers me, it is the principal, and the way they try to hide the fact.

I don’t like dual pricing either, but when the charge is only 60 Baht (£1.50), I think I’d just pay up and leave it at that.

As I said, with me, it isn't the cost, it's the principal and the deceit. Why do they need to try to hide the fact? Are they ashamed? What happened to transparency? In this case it was to make an extra 20฿. I didn't see any other Farangs while I was there, so was it worth it for the little bit extra?

......... In this case it was to make an extra 20฿. I didn't see any other Farangs while I was there, so was it worth it for the little bit extra?

Good point. I doubt if even one attraction in this country has done a loss study calculating how many foreigners walk away. If they did their eyes may be opened!

It was very nice, and I didn't even get to see the many exhibits.

But we’ve all lived with dual pricing all of our lives - adults pay one price, children pay (normally) half price and we just accept it!!

No not really, if you go to the cinema a child watches the same film and sits in the same seat as you and yet pays half the price and we don’t bat an eyelid because it’s always been that way - I don’t know how long dual pricing in Thailand has existed but it’s certainly been that way for a long time, it’s just how it is!!
