Golden Place Recommendations

Post by wenshidi »

A lot of the stock inside Golden Place is either very high end or culturally new to me. I am sure that there must be some real gems that are in my budget, but it is hard to know when many things I cannot even recognise.
Does anybody have any good tips on good buys at Golden Place?

Has anybody been to the new Laksi branch in BKK?

the supermarket ?? I feel that most of the products are very common and can found them everywhere. Some products are local products from some Royal Projects and are of good quality, sold at a fair price.

I saw a lot of very good quality products available at a very Royal Project price. Was there anything in particular that you thought was a good buy?

I saw some reasonably priced ice cream, so I am sure that there must be some other bargains.

There are certainly no bargains there, but the vegetables and greens are organic and reasonably priced. For those into herbal medicines, soaps and shampoos etc. they have a large but expensive selection.
There is also a wide selection of Thai dried fruits, "artisan" rice cracker type stuff and strange fruit drinks.

The staff in both branches are extremely "laid back", even compared to the normally extremely laid back standards of Thai shop staff.

The fruit market to the side of the shop ( the shop next to the palace) is usually well stocked with a good variety of produce.

Thank you. I had a good scour and found the ice cream and popsicle freezer at the back and chose the most amazing salaca, sweet gourd and passion fruit lolly!
A very nice find and I am now looking forward to trying the mango and pineapple flavours.
Best of all, only 19 baht each.

Can confirm that the pineapple and durian popsicles are also out of this world. Rich, thick, creamy and one of the best bargains in Hua Hin!
