Proper home cooked chips
Imported Cod
Mushy Peas
Tartar Sauce
And you even get batter bits or scraps I call them

Probably the best I have had for a long time
Batter was light and crispy and the homemade chips were great.
I need a lie down now.

I do have a pic but cant work out how to load it

My first impression was that the fish looked ok - the batter appeared crisp, although it was a slightly odd shape. The thing that stood out for me was the very small portion of chips - they looked pretty good but would be gone before even half of the fish had disappeared!!

At least there's no side salad, but they've filed 1/3rd of the plate with a small bowl of mushies and a bowl of sauce. Better they'd added a few more chips and loft the side bowls where they belong, on the side.

Can you imagine how popular a UK chippy would be if they rationed the chips?

During my recent visit to the UK, this came from a mobile van than comes near to where one of my sons lives. The Cod was really nice and huge, as were the portions of chips which were even more than is shown in the picture. Salt and vinegar included in the price but any other condiments were extra - the cost for three was just shy of £30.Image

Nothing really to say. Looking for an emoji that encompasses how much I’m drooling over that photo right now. Very, very nice.

The Raffertys photo is a little deceiving as there was loads of chips under the fish. I was full after it and I like a big portion of chips.

Just had Fish & Chips at Gary @ Sabsi Sabai, Soi 102. The best F & C I have had in Hua Hin. Barracuda steaks in a crispy batter and real homemade chips. Passed on the mushy peas (never been my favourite) but the side salad was excellent. At 320 Baht great value for money. Will be going back.

I've eaten it a couple of times in the last few weeks but it wasn't that much unless you had a drink with it? I'm sure its more like 230 Baht?

What does Barracuda taste like? Any distinct flavour or simply reminds of Cod or other more traditional F&C fish?

This puts me off a little from eating Barracuda:
Barracuda is safe to eat if prepared correctly. Barracudas have good nutrition and provide attractive and protein-rich meat. However, meat from large barracudas can contain harmful bacteria and viruses. These pathogens can cause ciguatera poison, a harmful infection from eating certain fish.

My mistake, was 225 (thinking about price of the Hamburger on the menu)

Found the taste of the Barracuda very similar to North Sea white fish such as Cod. Only real difference the filets are smaller.

It puts me off a lot! Why risk it when so many alternatives are available?

Unusually, I chose Fish & Chips at Le Pub last night (I rarely eat anything that lives under the water). I've no idea what it was, but the fish was the tastiest I've had since living in Thailand. I really enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, the chips were frozen, and the mushies........... what can I say about the mushies? IMHO they were garden peas that had been put through a blender. However, the chips and the mushies were worth it because of the fantastic fish.
