Moving to hua hin condo/house recommendations

Hi will be moving / retiring to hua hin. Going to rent for maybe one year.

Been looking at La Casita and Marvest condos. Anyone stayed or any info on these two places

Have a budget of 15000/20000. Per month

Like to stay around soi 88 /94/102 area. Not too far from beach.

Would even consider. House. Or in the Khao Takiab. Area.

i have visited 2 times La Casita. location is good and common areas are nice. But for units i feel they are smal and with cheap furniture. Not sure i would stay one year.

Yes. Probably best stay maybe 6 months see how I like it. Soi 88 condo looks nice too

I’d suggest keeping your options as flexible as possible - don’t commit for 6 months until you try somewhere, otherwise you could have 5.1/2 months of dissatisfaction

if it is "The 88" deep in the soi, avoid it. Cheap but far from everything. Some units are noisy a lot of problem with management

I have stayed at La Casita and thought it was great, the grounds and pool are fantastic, the location to MV, beach and Soi 94 was a real clincher for me. Not that difficult to walk to the town if you want.

There majority of the rooms are 1 bed ( there are 2 beds but not many) there are 2 types, one which is a studio and 1 with seperate bedroom. I had the one with seperate bedroom and I found it plenty big enough for 1 or 2 people.

My condo was well equipped but didnt have a washing machine, some do.
There is a laundry and water dispenser in the complex along with a gym.

I paid around 14k a month, not the cheapest but for what you get I thought it was great.

I know people in La Casita and they all say it has been totally spoiled by a huge influx of Russian families with young kids. Badly behaved, don't follow rules and generally rude.

They've also driven up the rental prices dramatically

Yes there were a few Russians there, but I didnt really find them to be a problem, they keep themselves to the themselves.

The majority of people staying there are short term Airbnb ers . People are constantly coming and going.

The best advice is to come here and have a look and do NOT commit to any rental until you see it.

There are many posts above which bear this out.

One great way of finding good housing in Thailand is simply to walk into various condo complex’s and see what is available. many decently furnished units are available with month to month rent and cheaper for longer terms. One realtor’s website currently shows 100s of units available in HH and this can be a way to see pics of what’s available. Going into the off season, much is available and at reduced prices.

Also wondering about using a realtor and how the realtor gets paid. I understand they get a commission for a year rental but told they get nothing for rentals of less than a year. Anyone had experience with that?

You could try looking on Facebook Marketplace as well, or any of the Hua Hin places to rent groups on there, different budgets, areas and lease lengths to suit.
