Just HOW are folk going to get to the new rail station?
Re: Just HOW are folk going to get to the new rail station?
For those that want to have a look, this is the latest drone video taken in October (not sure if the Nov. one is out yet)
As BB says, it shows the other side of the station. There is only a dirt track there at the moment and no sign of any development as there is no sign of the parallel road expansion on this side of the station.

It seems that the new station is opening next month:

This is Novembers video. It concentrates on the station in view of the news it will be in use shortly, plus some of the dragon racing from Kao Tao.

Do you have a link to view the latest artists impressions?

No, I'm sorry but I couldn't find it (I did see them in an article first). I actually Googled it, and found the images from memory in Google Images.

I only see the 7:30 am departure from Bangkok to Hua Hin arriving in 3 hours. What about a Hua Hin to Bangkok departure time arriving in 3 hours? Thank you for the videos.
Re: Just HOW are folk going to get to the new rail station?
9 days from opening, and I can not see how people are going to get to the new station. I went past it 4 times yesterday, and 9 months seems more achievable than 9 days.

Today is the day - it opens. The condition of the new station blends very well with other areas of Hua Hin (The Temple Wall, Fishing Pier area and The Grand Market), but has anybody worked out how to access the new station?

I've just been there, access via the old Station for now. Had a walk around, you can't go up to the platforms and no sign of a Train arrival today. Looks like there is a tunnel, entry via the peculiar structure at the top of Soi 80. Things are starting to happen....slowly.
Re: Just HOW are folk going to get to the new rail station?
So you have to walk across the railway tracks?

That's a couple of days old now, so...?
Re: Just HOW are folk going to get to the new rail station?
Yes, but I presume the new ticket office is in the new station. They built a monstrous raised railway to avoid vehicles, but people..........

A nice article that does not advise how to avoid walking on the railway tracks, and as for ,hhinner wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 11:54 am Today they start to use the new ticket office. Train services use the new track from 15th.

They are having a laugh. Don't they read what they write? No way will I be pushing Mrs BB down that railway track.Assistance for the disabled, elderly: The station accommodates the elderly, disabled, pregnant women, and those with heavy luggage. One accompanying person is permitted for assistance if needed.
