Did nobody else watch last night's game?

I thought England played at a very pedestrian pace in the first half, and were quite fortunate that Bellingham was fouled to give them a penalty, which meant scores were even at half-time.

Southgate must have put a rocket up their backsides in the dressing room, because they were a completely different team in the 2nd half.

I think German football must suit Captain Harry. I was noticing him all over the pitch last night, and not just scoring goals. He looked a much more complete centre-forward.

I only watched the highlights (8 minutes) and I thought England look somewhat shaky until the equaliser and then bossed the show. I suppose that against Italy it’s a pretty good result so let’s be hopeful for 2024 when you know what could happen!!!

A lack-lustre performance sees England beat Malta 2-0 last night, not the result you’d have expected against such lowly opponents. Only saw the high(lo)lights and not much to get excited about!!

You didn't miss much, it was pretty awful. Even allowing for the fact that Kane was denied a clear-cut penalty (and booked for diving! ) and Rice's goal was disallowed for a questionable 'interference' offside, it was very below par.
Oooooeerrr missus, yessssss, mmm, the lustre was very much lacking. :naughty:

I haven't even watched the highlights yet. I couldn't find an English speaking link, and when I had to be up very early this morning anyway, I didn't bother. Sounds as if not even worth bothering with the highlights.

I just watched EUFA's highlights. A couple of Malta near misses, the 2 England goals, the ridiculously disallowed one, the skippers booking and erm, well that was it really.

After seeing the score of 1-1 against North Macedonia, I couldn’t force myself to even watch the highlights (on the basis that the England goal was an own goal, I doubt that there were many). Oh well, not long before we can all start shouting “it’s ………………”

I opted for beauty sleep over the footie again. My son has watched the highlights, and based on his feedback, I won't bother.

Of course we know which way its coming, just Southgate playing it cute after early qualification. He doesn't want to give too much away. I think the England Rugby Team recently adopted a similar approach to the World Cup, and it almost worked.

^^^

The draw was briefly interrupted by 'porn noises' coming from someone's phone. The draw resumed and the rest of the evening ran smoothly. Apart from when the noise kept coming back.

Euro playoffs on tonight, Wales vs Finland. Winner will play Poland or Estonia. Can the Welsh make it to the Euros? Fingers crossed. 🤞
