Real Chinese Restaurants?

Post by DDD »

Chef Cantonese Tea Restaurant at 21/9 Chomsin (Hua Hin 55) has some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in any country.
My wife’s family is Cantonese, one was a chef, and they are quite particular. So I’m not saying this lightly.

This restaurant has a fairly new Chinese owner. The chef is trained in dim sum and makes dishes from scratch. They speak english, Chinese, Thai. The food came out in courses (like a very few top restaurants I’ve been to) so we were able to enjoy each dish.

This was not a Thai version of Chinese food like we’ve usually seen in Thailand.

Actually, what I wanted to ask is; are there other Chinese restaurants recommended in HH?

Chef Cantonese Restaurant ... -0- presence on the internet.

May want to give them a review on Gmap, so others can enjoy. They get some business, and stay in business for your future visits.

Thank you for the link. Made giving my first Google Maps review straightforward. Also corrected their address as there seemed to be another similar restaurant down the block on Google Maps.

GMaps also led me to a restaurant review link https://restaurantguru.com/chinese-Hua-Hin-c20 which looks like a possibly good way to find HH restaurants (and answers my question about finding other HH Chinese and other kinds of restaurants…

Well, I may be wrong, but that link looks hopeless to me. Of the restaurants on that list that I know, most, if not all are not Chinese. I think they've just polluted the keywords with as many keys as they can to get their restaurants listed, regardless of what they sell.

Noticed the keyword pollution as well when I looked around in RestaurantGuru. Seems most sites have similar noise and I just use what they offer as hints as to what to try. I was able to go up a level in the search that produced a map of restaurants that looks easier to use than Gmaps but probably not entirely accurate either.

For those who remember Gary on Soi 94 and the other place. He is back up and running. Love his crispy duck and Sweet n Sour dishes. F/B page is UK Chinese Takeaway By Pitty.

So that's from his new place on 102 then? Or are we talking of a different Gary?

No idea, I just got a Whats App message from Gary that he was back in business.

So, what did you order and how much did it come to?
