Airline bookings for Schengen Visa

The application for a Schengen Visa or a UK Visitor’s Visa seem similar, except for the Schengen Visa, there is the additional burden of providing flight and hotel bookings - as if all the other stuff to be provided was not enough.

I don’t want to book anything, before visa issue or knowing firm travel plans.
It looks like there is some flexibility on hotel bookings if you show sufficient funds, but not so on the flights?
My Google search shows up sites for ‘dummy flight bookings’ or ‘rent-a-ticket’.
Anyone know of any local agents who can do flight bookings for a fee (i.e. without buying a ticket)?

Looks like most country destinations in Europe are handled by one of two visa agents in Bangkok (VFS and TLS) with a requirement for a personal visit to obtain biometrics.
First country visited means that embassy provides the Schengen Visa.
Not yet decided on first country – either France, Switzerland or Austria.

Are round trip tickets from Bangkok much the same cost irrespective of European destination?
Any advice appreciated…

BTW - it looks like the Schengen visa can get issued within 2 weeks, but UK visa takes much longer?

Western tours used to do that. Worth asking them.

They don't seem to charge any obvious commission and prices I have been quoted are the same or less than I see on airline websites. It is nice having a no of quotes without having to do to much legwork

I contacted Western Tours by email and they can make the air ticket reservation for THB 500 per person.

Apparently, the reservations expire after 3 days, but looks like that's OK for the Schengen visa application.

Thanks for the tip.
