Thanks. Interesting. I found hat when I did it the way you describe, it took a very long time for the money to get from my bank to Wise.

I guess you just have to experiment a bit and see what works best.

It could be a difference between US and UK banking.

Well maybe quicker because Wise is based in UK as far as I understand.

Noticed yesterday that WISE were offering 4.54% on GBP accounts in what they call a 'jar'. The USD jar interest rate is even better at 4.8% and they offer 11% on a BlackRock managed stock fund.

Its better than regular savings accounts in most UK high street banks and way better than the pathetic 0.3% K-bank gives you on THB. Time to fill up those jars.

Wise

Post by thecolonel »

Please can mods transfer to wise thread as I cant find it on mobile Tapatalk

Having a huge issue with Wise on mobile app

I've perfectly set up a transfer from my UK bank to my Thai Bank acc

I get to a page called

"review details of your transfer"

But then i simply can't say yes proceed

There's no 'continue' button

The only button there is a help button and trust me it's very unhelpful! All i can do is go back which cancels everything

Can anyone help me?

I won't have access to PC till much later

You probably haven't ticked something that needs to be ticked, before you can go on to complete the transfer. Can you go back a page or two and look?

Why not wait until you have access to a PC?

Yes I am going to have to wait for PC but what if I was without it for long period?

And I categorically haven't missed anything, I triple checked

Also there's no notification at all from wise as to what the issue is or what to do about it(the help section is useless)

Yes there's obviously an issue (stating the bleeding obvious) but why just leave the customer completely in the dark with literally nowhere to go?!

Very poor from Wise

It actually could be very helpful. We already know that tapatalk does not work properly on this forum.

Tapatalk has nothing to do with Wise.

Someone else needs to make a similar transfer to determine whether the fault is with the Wise app or the individual's system.

I've sorted it!

I reinstalled the Wise app and then I was not stuck at same point

I should've thought of that earlier(classic fix) but it proves two things

1. I hadnt missed any steps
2. It had nothing to do with Tapatalk

Thanks

Interesting

But are we talking about the same thing......

if you turn on the interest rate feature then beware.... capital is at risk. No returns are guaranteed

but that's at 4.82 %

Are returns of 4.54% guaranteed on 'jars'?

Thanks

One rate is for GBP, the other for USD, the stock fund is higher risk and not guaranteed. I've been getting close to 4.5% since I opened the 'jar'. Certainly beats leaving money devaluing in a Thai bank account.

"One rate is for GBP, the other for USD..."

If you're talking about the two rates I mentioned then sorry but I disagree

My account has nothing to do with US dollars

As said, it offers me the option of turning on the interest rate function for my GBP cash balance at 4.84 % but it's not guaranteed and the capital is at risk(their words)

I think the jar function is different and doesn't offer any interest on GBP cash balances.

It does however pay interest to certain US users on their USD wise balances

I stand to be corrected, just my reading of it
