Extra (Now less) Cash For Thai Pensioners

Post by Big Boy »

I heard on the car radio this morning that the Government had set aside a huge amount of money that was going to be given to Thai pensioners because their children can't afford to keep because of Covid constraints. My immediate thought was give us the money as Mrs BB should qualify :dance:.

I've been looking ever since to find it in the news, but see nothing.

With Mrs BB's monthly Thai pension running at a massive 600฿/month, I'm still wondering what we'll spend the extra cash on :wink:

Seriously, has anybody else seen this story anywhere please/have a link?

My wife asked about this at the Government bank and they said that they've not received any information or heard anything about it and it's probably "fake news."

The place to ask would be the tessaban. My wife didn't get it in April, but her payment is due near the start of the month, so before the announcement. We are, of course, extremely anxious that we (I mean my wife) don't miss out on this extremely generous 600 baht over 6 months. /sarc

Thai Pensions

Post by handdrummer »

I can't find the subject, I know it was discussed before, so please move this post to where it belongs. Thanx.

Last night on the news, it was announced that the monthly pensions would increase. There's a different amount for different age groups. 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90 +.

It will begin on July 8th. and be retroactive from April.
For those receiving 600 bht. in July it will increase 100 bht + 3 months back pay since April. 100 baht a month. 700 bht will be 150 for July + 150 per month from April. 800 baht, will recieve 200 + 200 for 3 months, 1000 baht will receive +250 ea. month for the past 3 months.

Starting August and Sept. 600=700
700=850
800=1000
1000=1200

And again, it's been put forward to July 19th. Those good old boys are on the ball.
