One thing that I’ve noticed is that meat prices have come down (even further) of late, although that has been offset by most other fresh food increasing, so overall costs are reasonably static.
Doesn't look very static on my ever-increasing grocery bills at Makro.

Well I guess it depends on what you buy, but I’ve certainly noticed a considerable drop in the price of meat and although everything else seems to go up, I’m of the opinion that my overall costs are slightly lower now than they were last year?
On a similar note, my wife is on a very special diet at the moment. My daughter is doing the cooking. She went out to buy the ingredients this afternoon. When she got home from the market, she spoke without any prompting, saying how reasonably priced the meat and fish were but the price of the vegetables was shockingly expensive - over half of the bill, which I agree is very unusual. She said we've gone into the "didn't catch the name" season, where vegetables shoot up in price every year.
Something I've noticed a lot whilst living in Thailand. Prices often have seasonal fluctuations, and whilst the price drops at the end of that season, prices rarely go back all of the way to the pre-season level. The one exception is eggs, which always go back to square 1, eventually.
With the seasons/cycles getting worse and more unpredictable, these cost fluctuations are likely to be amplified as will the price gouging. Some mushrooms, a lump of celery, some broccoli, and a couple of other greens cost almost a grand at Makro, nobody can say food is cheap in Thailand any longer.

Shopped the following at Makro couple of days ago :
Broccoli THB 55/kg
Mushrooms 250g box THB 55
Celery 300g pack THB 27
You must have bought a lot of green to get to a total of THB 1000 !
Also, I’ve switched from fresh broccoli to frozen - it works out cheaper, doesn’t get thrown away because it wasn’t used within a few days and actually tastes ok. Can’t remember the exact price but believe it’s just over a 100B for a 1kg bag of florets - no thick stump!!

No, there were 8-9 items in the trolley. I can hunt for the receipt if you're calling me a liar but I simply can't be arsed.
Not calling anyone liar just stating the prices I paid and same I could also get the receipt, but no need, it all depends on the quantity bought

Just see that Andranna's Bakery have a new menu. Many prices raised. The gap is a bit huge ( i have seen one breakfast set increased by 20%). Some others meals have same prices as before.
I think generally prices at restaurants have increased quite a bit. Meals typically around 300 baht are now more in the 400-500 range. I guess it has been unavoidable since prices/inflation are hiked all over the world and it would eventually happen here too.
Having returned to Thailand from the UK a month ago, it’s noticeable how much cheaper it is to eat out here than there. Of course it’s still more expensive than it used to be and particularly so for those on low incomes, but as an expat I feel quite fortunate.
But think how much food has sugar. I've got to search the supermarket shelves for zero sugar for my wife - 0 sugar content is rare. OK, some will be natural sugar, but if it isn't the extra cost will be passed on.
Yes but they’re talking about 4 Baht a kilo, so not even Thai enriched sugary food will have very much in it - 100 gms would be 0.4B in value so I can’t see any price hikes coming!!
