I first heard that, one night in a Salt Lake City Holiday Inn, relaxing in a hot bath, after a long drive, on a cold winter's day and night, from Montana and a 6 month road gig with a Country Western band. I was so stunned by that album that I sat in the tub until the water turned cold.

What I find is that I might like a few tracks from a given band/artist, but by no means all of their music, so on that basis, I don’t have that many special artists that I follow - I either like a specific record or not.

I'm with you, and don't follow bands (especially these days) - but hey, the list is growing and I've found/enjoyed some great music... song by song. Have you searched some of those listed?Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 7:05 am What I find is that I might like a few tracks from a given band/artist, but by no means all of their music, so on that basis, I don’t have that many special artists that I follow - I either like a specific record or not.

Jeez, I completely omitted Soul Music, I have quite a lot, mainly compiltations. And what about Disco? I had a couple of Brothers Johnson albums and I really liked Hamilton Bohannon - great beats. Rock Your Baby by George McCrae was a big favourite. Not sure why now?

Your A to Z of Bands and/or Artists
Not yet, I’ve been unusually busy these past few days but will take a look during the week and add those that I like to my Amazon Prime collection- I listen to most of my offline music for when I’m drivingpharvey wrote:I'm with you, and don't follow bands (especially these days) - but hey, the list is growing and I've found/enjoyed some great music... song by song. Re: Your A to Z of Bands and/or Artists
I like music, still listen a lot and my range is pretty broad, most everything except rap. Didn't like, but now do, country music.
Some that may have been mentioned, but I don't think so (in no particular order)
Cat Stevens
Emerson Lake and Palmer
Los Lobos
Andrea Bocelli
Mana
Marty Robbins
Springsteen
The white buffalo
Heavy horses
Alison Krauss
Elvis
And being from Detroit, Motown

This one is my go to album at the minute on Spotify (sorry I'm veering more towards the 'What are you listening to now?' thread but while this is active I'll put it here). For reading, housework (roomwork ) and bath time. Really wonderful compilation of tracks for those who enjoy their peaceful classical. Couple of BLM promoting tracks by name only but they're beautiful so I allow it.

Re: Your A to Z of Bands and/or Artists
Lots of good names and music here. Some that I'd forgotten and others that I hadn't heard.
I'll add Willie Nelson, especially his guitar solos. Nelson, like Thelonious Monk and Gustav Mahler, doesn't go where your ear tells you he's going to go.
Wheeler Walker Jr. Country song writer/singer. Does outrageous stuff, especially for country. EX: "You're breakin' my heart, tearin' it apart, so f**k you."
Billy Strings. Amazing guitar playing.
And, of course, that wonderful bit of rap, WAP. Certainly the choice for song of the decade.
Ta, Ta and say "Hi" to the queen.
