Hua Hin water outage Feb 2020

Post by cbranscombe »

Hi,

Anyone have a schedule of the current water disruptions. I was told yesterday that water is due back on today. There must be some sort of schedule available but I can't find one, anyone have the answer
Thanks

We've had problems just north of the town centre (24th and 25th) but things appear to be getting back to normal.

And to be honest, as often as not with us, it's water pressure rather than no water at all that is the problem. The tank just doesn't fill up so we end up with various large plastic containers outside, in the bathroom and in the kitchen.

Although this time round it appears from the above posts that there was a full disruption, the pressure issue is one we've always had over the 15 years we've been in the house. We've just got used to living with it although it's not an ideal situation.

The FB post I referred to above is about moving a town water main and a raw water main due to the work on the dual track rail. The affected communities are those northwards from around Pae Mai and dependent on said main.

Thanks hhinner - still without water in khao noi village this morning. Had a look at the FB page but its all in Thai so not able to see if they have established a date when the repairs will be completed, getting expensive keep topping up our water at 300 Baht per trip.

I read somewhere yesterday that a complaint to the water board will see your tanks refilled for free. I can't substantiate that claim, but I know when we were affected a couple of years ago, we didn't pay for tank refills.

I remember years ago that water was free as long as the household bill was less than 100 THB. We had free water for a good few months.

A novel approach to a drought situation and one that I'd welcome again.

We got water sometime in the early hours and it's still on. However the pressure is still very low. We're in Smorphrong at the end of a line, but not greatly elevated. Khao Noi village is a bit higher up so it may take a while for water to get up there bearing in mind the number of empty tanks filling up lower down the hill.

I guess how much you pay for water depends on the basis of your supply - domestic or commercial. If you buy from a private supplier then that will also cost you more. If you have a tessaban supply you should order from the tessaban water department and then pay the normal mains water rate.

I'm in Tropical Hill 1, Smorprong, and we haven't been affected at all. Water every day at the usual low pressure but enough for showers, etc. Maybe it's because we have 2 tanks and haven't run out?
