Of course, this is why I try to insert a rider, "That is personal taste." English breakfast has many variations, and you won't please all of the people all of the time. I accept that I am quite fussy if buying an English breakfast. If somewhere IMO downgrades, I simply go to another establishment that maintains the standard.

I was intrigued. so when in Tops, I wandered over to see what it consisted of. It resembled what many Thai hotels serve up i.e. plastic sausage, plastic ham, etc.

Yes, I don't get there often enough, but I do like breakfast at the room. Of course, he does a lor more than breakfast as well.
I still rate Joe's pretty highly and went again today.

But one issue is have is their tea is not 'hot' it's just warm. You could pour a cup of it when they bring it and then just down it one! They clearly don't use a proper kettle to boil the water. For me as an Englishmam this is just sacrilegious!

I will have to have a friendly word with the now very pregnant Boss Lady next time!

Sounds like they may have one of those hot and cold water dispensers and the hot is nowhere near 100c probably not much more than 90 so yes, you’ll never get a proper cup of “English” tea at that temperature.

Definitely not mine. There's something about the place that I can't even bring myself to try it. I do buy some Farang treats there.

In answer to your question, go past the 2 x 7-11s. Not far up the road on the right it's there.

Its a bank holiday, my son has a day off work, so we usually go out for a breakfast adventure (try somewhere new). Our intention had been to try Jenny's, but I went onto the other breakfast thread and read this viewtopic.php?f=16&t=18117&p=493994#p493994 . So only a fool would go there after reading that, so we needed a Plan B. It is close so we tried Nanny's.

My biggest fear of Nanny's has come from going in there to buy Farang treats. Having to cut my way through a wall of tobacco smoke on the way in and out. I have no objection to smoking, but I believe smoking and eating should never mix in public. Today, despite a no smoking notice on the wall, there was 1 person smoking - thankfully, he left before our food arrived. In fairness to the smokers, there were ashtrays on tables, so I guess that is an invite to smoke.

The set breakfasts were, in my opinion excellent value. Mrs BB ordered a small breakfast for 99฿, my son and I ordered medium breakfasts for 159฿. Black Pudding was 25฿ extra. Everything was well cooked (including the eggs, which many Thais have difficulty with). Whilst the meat products were OK, they were of the variety other places have changed to, making me change to new venues. There is nothing wrong with what was served, but my personal preference was not satisfied.

In conclusion, the breakfast is excellent value, but I won't return because of the smoking policy.

I'm starting to feel the same way re Joe's /Pats Place, too many flipping smokers

Couldn't agree more re smoke smell when either eating or about to

We need a nonsmoking good English breakfast place!

I've decided my no. 1 pet hate in this regard is ice cold and rock hard butter(usually served with luke warm toast)

I mean, they may as well take the toast away. Or you wait 30 minutes to eat your cold toast

I understand they need to refrigerate it but please take it out the freezer as soon as I order.

Funny how they can't get beer cold enough!

Oh and another thing, stop giving me (luke warm) tea 10 mins before my breakfast. I don't to fill up with tea before I eat I want to drink it towards the end of my food and afterwards

Rant over!

Not for fishing, but I've had cause to visit Hua Hin Fishing Lodge twice in the last 2 weeks. On both occasions I've invested in their big breakfast (219฿).

Now, I've been there dozens of times fishing, but have been too busy battling monsters, and have never had their breakfast before last week. Boy, have I been missing out.

It is slightly more expensive than many places around, but it is really the business. All quality ingredients (I'm quite fussy about my sausage and bacon). English beans (OK I've gone native on beans, but a pleasant change), but the winner for me is fried bread, just like mum used to make. I don't think I've had fried bread with breakfast in Thailand before. Of course, the price includes all the usual trimmings as well, such as mushrooms, tomatoes, toast, marmalade, coffee and orange juice. All of that, and the setting is beautiful as well.

IMHO this is now my favourite breakfast in Hua Hin.

Unfortunately, Nanys don't have the same quality of other products. Yes, I agree they are very good value for money, but IMHO there is no comparison. Fishing Lodge also do a 139฿ breakfast using the same quality products if 219฿ is too expensive. I don't consider it expensive because I won't need to eat again today.

Basically, you pays your money, and takes your chance. The OP asked for the 'Best', and Fishing Lodge is ahead of the rest by far. Unfortunately, it's a long way out, but if you're in the area, definitely worth a try.

It’s all relative - compared to other establishments in HH it might be a bit more expensive, but compared to the UK (we are after all talking about full English breakfast) it’s just over £5 so very reasonable, especially if it’s quality products. Sounds like it’s worth making a detour!!

Nany's fried bread is the best part of their Brekky! Agree the rest is acceptable(and cheap)

And I always have to tell them to make it HOT HOT!

Also agree if timed right you can skip evening meal. If I have muesli/Yoghurt about 11am and Nanys at 3.30/4pm I'm done for the day.... Kerching!
