Trip Report: Thailand to Saipan [Long]

Tourism is about all they've got. When they had control over their own immigration, they were able to admit tourists without visas. When the Feds took over they extended visa-free entry to only a few countries. They eliminated Russia from the visa-free program which eliminated a huge number of tourists. Right now the Chinese have visa-free entry and they are everywhere. But that may change which would be a big blow to the tourist industry.

Here's a casino, open but still under construction, owned by a Chinese company.
