I had the misfortune to catch a few minutes of a Thai soap opera yesterday evening on C7, I think. A scene was being played out by 2 gals & a bloke on the rasied porch of a traditional Thao wooden house. They were arguing *I didn't think Thais argued * One gal suddently pulls a pistol out of her back & brandishes it in the general direction of the otters, the pistol is plainly visable. Next is a shot of all three participants, the gun is pointed at one of them, however the gun is pixelated (blurred). The scene bobs between shots of the gal & her gun & shots of the gal pointing her gun at the otter two. It would seem that a shot of someone holding a gun on Thai TV is acceptable, but as soon as it's pointed at someone & that someone is in the shot, the gun becomes pixelated. What's the thinking behind that then?
Anymore Thai TV oddities?

Hi Harry;
It 's like you watch japanese porn movie. You will see all of the actors and actress all naked and you can perceive what are they doing. they will kiss, touch, or play with each other bodies parts but they will blurred you out only the centrepoint part and only that point.
So they can say that we are not dirty naked but we are artifically nude.
I don't know what has to do with Thai soap opera but I just want to clear out my thought.

I see loads of Thais smoking cigarettes when I'm out so it's obviously acceptable behaviour but don't they pixelate lit cigarettes on Thai TV... as well as guns & sexual genetalia?

I've just witnessed the most rediculous commercial on Thai TV. It was an anti smoking campaign with a guy and a girl sitting on a park bench. "Quit smoking" was the motto but the cigarette was pixelated out so it actually looked like a "Quit breathing" campaign.
Somebody somewhere is being paid to make these stupid regulations. Its easy to stop people in this country smoking, make them 500 baht a pack.
