This is across from a well known golf course on Highway 1001 about 8K west of Phetchakasem.

(Note that I blanked out the name of the development and firm behind it (when it was in English) because I do not want to be seen as promoting a commercial venture that might compete with one of the board's sponsors. The admins seem to be extremely sensitive about this sort of thing.)

Mod edit: title changed to reflect content and moved to appropriate section.
The board has no property sponsors so no worries!

Looks big. Do you have a website for the development, or the builders involved ?

There are a number of Chinese developers who are starting developments here, in expectations of the dual track making times from BKK a lot shorter.

The future opening up of the airport (as described in HH today a month or so ago ) has also added interest.

There's also a "Chinese Village" being developed on Soi 88 on the way to immigration. Will we need a passport and visa to enter? It looks like a Great Wall is going up around it.

In Guangzhou, there is a 30,00 sq. meter shopping mall called Thai Garden with Thai souvenirs and products. At night there's Thai Classical dancing. In the mall there is a replica of the Chakri Palace and outside 2 well known statues, the Erawan Shrine and a 3 headed elephant"It was built for poor people to enjoy without spending money totravel.

Arguable predictions: Within 5-7 yrs. the teaching of Mandarin Chinese will be a requirement in Thai schools. Within 20 yrs. all of SE Asia will be a protectorate of China. North Korea will be the stepping stone into S, Korea and Japan will caught in a pincer movement between SE Asia and Korea. Within 50 yrs. China will control Asia, Russia will control Europe & the US will control North, Central and South America. By then, in the US, the children of today's teenagers, who will have been thoroughly indoctrinated into Socialism & the Us will be a "Socialist" country and, effectively, the world will be enslaved, unless......... you get to fill in the rest.

It's called China Town, but does that mean the residents are Chinese?

I note that there is a helipad right next to the main road at the entrance.

What could possibly go wrong?

All the signs are in Chinese, that must indicate something, no?

I was thinking the same thing. I've never seen a helipad that wasn't either physically cordoned off or physically removed from places where people might be walking or driving.

Sorry to have missed this. The changed subject threw me off. In fact, the development pictured is not in Hua Hin. It is in Cha Am. I guess whoever changed my subject line missed this.

Anyway, it's here at this Google Maps Link: HuaThai City

It's very close to Springfield Golf and Hua Sabu Waterfall.

They will probably market it as Hua Hin to boost sales at a premium price. Look at hotel booking sites, Hua Hin can be anywhere from North of Hua Hin to Pak Nam Pran. Wasn't the Energy marketed as Hua Hin?

I’m sure you’re right. It’s just that the edited subject threw me off as I hadn’t posted anything about a development in Hua Hin.

Since this is clearly causing you so much anxiety ... from forum T&Cs:
We respectfully ask that thread titles reflect the content material, if they do not the moderators will follow the guidelines, as stated above, and move the topic to a more appropriate section as reflected by its title.
Your original title was meaningless so it was changed in accordance with forum policy so that it reflects the subject material which is in fact a large property development in the Hua Hin area aimed at Chinese buyers.

That is a lot further out than I would have anticipated. Long way to the beach, hua Hin, Cha am, shops, restaurants, bars, entertainment etc. To my mind that will be a very hard sell for such a big development - unless sold off plan back in China with misleading photos.

I'd say it's irritation rather than anxiety.
