Create a Word

Everyone in their lifetime has undoubtedly come across a situation or circumstance where no word fits to describe what's happening. Here's your chance to create something, but it's doubtful that it will be included in any official dictionary anytime soon. :laugh: Serious, humorous, double meaning, it's up to you. Different and more practical spellings of existing English words are also acceptable, and of course combining words to mean something else is also ok. Just make sure you give a clear definition of what your new words mean.

I came up with the idea this morning, but I have no idea about any word yet. Thinking.... Have fun. Pete :cheers:

The one I've coined is "hangry" - it describes the agitated state of a Southeast Asian female who hasn't eaten rice for at least 2-3 hours...

Our students come up with some fabulous made-up words, which actually fit quite well.

struttle (v): walking with an air of confidence and possibly arrogance

squarrel (v): a combination of squabble and quarrel

I certainly didn't create it. It's a word widely used in Scottish slang

MAWKIT

It means dirty. But like very very very dirty.

CLARTY means the same. Also Scottish slang. And I love them both and they have no equivalent that I know of in English.

When I lived in Scotland many years ago, I thought they'd picked up some Yorkshire slang. Brought up in Hull, 'clarty midden' was in common use as was 'bairns'!

Sandpooper - what toilet paper feels like after you've eaten too many bird's eye chilis.

Example: "Couldn't face the sandpooper this morning, bum gun only".

No one should have to suffer from lack of nookie if married. I realize that many do but it's not a requirement.
