No More Happy Hours

Post by RCer »

Saw a post the other on FB that the PM wants to put an end to happy hours, 2 for 1 specials, and any form of promoting alcohol.

Sorry I didn't think about copying a link at the time.

This has been the 'law' for some time.
No 'happy hours'
No 'selfies' with a drink in hand.
No promotions.
No advertising.
Waiters/waitresses can't recommend a brand of drink.
No more beer girls (Chang girls)

This was issued by the junta some time ago and guess what...... nothing changed.

Look at the face of those 2 : Prayut and Prawit. Do they look happy ? So why should others be happy ?

4 nights ago (at a well-known bar), I had 3 G&T's for the price of 2... and the Chang lady smiled & came over to chat for a while.

Yep, the point has already been made that the regulation has never bitten. Many of the bars in Bintabaht have a buy one get one or a buy two get one sign on display. And the girls in the Singha/Leo/Chang dresses are still a welcome sight at Baan Khor Por, Hua Hin Beer Garden, etc.

We're safe for a good while yet I hope. :)
