I am not sure where this should be but i am sure mods will place accordingly.
My little darlings love "Market Place" , why because ther are lots of people and Thai's love crowds.
I on the other hand try to avoid crowds and franchise's . However it was my niece's day off from Index so MK was her choice to eat.
We were well into ordering when i ordered my usual chang , when the waitor informs me no alchohol until 5 pm. I left after informing them they were not interperating the law properly. My wife said it is to new they don't know the the law yet!!

Off sales are now restricted to 11-3 and 5-midnight. 7-11's seem to be adhering to these times. I'd agree that on-sales in a bar, restaurant etc are not covered by these timings - except for closing time.
I was at my local shop one day a couple of weeks ago, about 10amish I think and the lady wrapped my bottles of Chang up in newspaper so they couldn't be seen throught the plastic bag.
Going and coming back from Bang Saphang last weekend, I tried to get a couple of beers at a petrol station 7-11. No way, at either of them. Alcohol sales at pertrol stations were outlawed at the same time last year as the new off-sales hours came in. The penalties can be severe - it's up to 100,000 or 200,000 baht fine for the retailer, I think.
What can alchies like myself do now if we're "on the road"?

Burger wrote I had lunch today in the flashy shiny new Japanese restaurant in Market Village. Had no problem ordering a Heineken!?
I had lunch there last week and ordered a Heineken at 1: 45 pm, but I was told by the waitress that I wouldn't be able to order anymore after 2 pm. Seems like Fuji are following MK's policy.
My wife seems to think it is because they are all located in the same building - which means Tesco Lotus are now governing the sales of alcohol in a licenced restaurant. I am also confused.

between 14.00 and 17.00 we cannot buy alcohol in 7/11 and bigger petrolstation on the Phetkasem in both direction.
But my best advise if you still want a beer-I do it sometimes.
Go inside 7/11 grab a beer and open it and taste it-then go and pay it...
The cashier see me -a farang who dont understand and always ask her friens-What to do? and they say-Farang dont know so I always get it.
Exman is a bad boy sometimes.
