Honda CBX 1000

Post by StevePIraq »

I have a hankering to buy a Honda CBX 1000 6 cylinder. I understand it will most likely be in need of restoration but that is no issue.

Anyone have any ideas where to look, I have tried all over the net in Thailand and find nothing

Hi ...

I stumbled across a website a few years ago...called truck2hand
there allsorts for sale cars , trucks , buses , tractors etc etc...
if you scroll down on the truck2hand site in the right margin...
you will see a picture of a Red Honda NR750.
click on this and then theres hundreds of bikes for sale.

The sites is in Thai...and most pages are full of small bikes...
but ive been saving pics and prices of rare big bikes for ages....
Amazing what is here...most likely without green books...
I have seen a CBX for sale...
But it was a Gold Pro Link faired touring version...
but a CBX non the less...in reasonable nick...350,000Baht
it will be on one of the pages somewhere...
PM me if you want a picture.

hope this helps

Hi,
I have two CBX1000, one maybe for sale, it's a 1978 twin shock, It's been in storage for a while but the cylinders are frequently filled with gear box oil and the cams are painted with grease, the whole of the bikes metal work is greased up.
I remove the plugs every month or so and crank the engine over to lube the engine, then refill the cylinders with oil and put back the plugs, so it looks a bit messy but underneath the oil and grease it's in good condition.
It's all original apart from the silencers, the down pipes are original.
It has the correct and legal green book, no dodgy paperwork and it is still taxed.
I also have another cbx in Perth Aus.

My other has upside down forks, wide wheels, web cams, etc etc.
I live in Chiang Mai but overseas until next week, tel: 0819223212,
Regards
Grant

Hi,
I bought these from an american guy (lived in Pattaya) who worked on oil rigs, he was a perfectionist, he replaced every thing in both bikes, I have heaps of receipts and brand new spare parts.
The poor guy past away a few years ago but I wanted to make one special which I have done and have the other as original but I'm not home very often, I have a Hayabusa as well so too many toys really.
The bike does look messy, but it's only because the dust has stuck to the oil and grease painted all over the metal work
The bike was running when I got it home some 5 years ago, the carbs need cleaning now, i replaced the carbs on the special with 35mm Keihin smooth bore from the states, also installed a ZX9R alternator, wheels, forks, swinging arm, clocks, busa switches, suzuki master cylinders, hydraulic clutch conversion, new wiring loom, the list goes on for ever!
I need an email address to send the photos to, if not allowed to do on here then call my wife on the mobile number and tell her your address.
Regards

What a bike! Hope to see it in Hua Hin some day!
Myself ride a F6C back home, but the looks of the CBX engine beats F6C 6 cyl boxer hands down!
Only riding a Zoomer here :)

I realise this isn't helpful, but it is interesting if you are a CBX fan.

yep I saw that CBX on Ebay, GBP25,980 (Baht 1.544m) wow, only 8 miles since new, would be great to have but way beyond my budget and then there is still the shipping and importation costs to consider
