We're all having very similar issues which leads me to believe the problems are with the UK channels leveling up their blocking technology - not the VPNs.

That said, I'll be switching to Nord just for the massive saving even if the same issues as Express remain.

Yes, that is my thinking as well. If DB's Nord had shown a significant improvement, then I most likely would have purchased already. Likewise, if Pete manages to get any refund, then I'd consider early purchase. Otherwise, I will wait for Express renewal time, and switch then.

Any refund after 30 days looks impossible unless a defined issue that their Customer Service can't resolve. :( Of course if someone is on monthly pay rather than yearly, it's just a matter of going into your control panel and disabling "Automatic Renewal". I think most of us have paid for a year though.

A good idea to disable the auto renew on your yearly too if you're going to switch then.

Just to say that after my earlier glowing review of NordVPN I've also been having increasing problems, with it, especially with BBC iPlayer in the last week or so.

I keep getting more and more error messages on iPlayer that the programme is not available just now but to try again later. However once I've got that message, I keep getting it no matter how many times I try - until I exit the app, clear the cache, force-stop the app, restart NordVPN and then sometimes it works (but not always).

For some reason it's worse on the Amazon Firestick than the Mi TV box, even though the Firestick worked fine when I first got back from the UK with it, back in November.

I also suspect, as others have suggested, that it's something the BBC have changed, rather than a VPN issue. ITVX still seems OK for now (touch wood) but Channel 4 also won't work on the Firestick now (and there's no Channel 4 app for Android TV OS devices so I can't try it on the Mi TV box).

Unless I get any major issues, this’ll be the last post for a week.

Last night I used the Laptop/Firefox/Nord combination and watched a BBC programme, an ITV programme and then back to BBC for one more and everything was faultless (Hope I’ve not jinxed it for tonight).

i find with my Firestick, iPlayer stands a much better chance of working, if I restart (NOT reset) the Firestick first

I raised a trouble ticket with NordVPN about the problems accessing BBC iPlayer from my Firestick and Android TV devices.

The reply I got from them was a bit long-winded but basically said they were aware of the problems on these particular devices, due to multiple user reports and were working on the issue but had no estimate of when it would be resolved.

I’m hoping not to tempt fate but I’ve had a virtual fault free week of viewing BBC, ITV, Channel 4&5 on both iPad and laptop connected to TV with Nord.

Well, as I say, the problems I (and others) seem to be experiencing only appear to affect Amazon Firestick and Android TV devices.

For instance, I have no problems with iPlayer on my Android tablet or my laptop.

Just to add my experience......

I use an 'Android box' and an 'Amazon firestick' and don't use a VPN.
I never have any problems viewing the channels mentioned.

Hello Derek60,

Sorry DB, of course I will share this.

I use an IPTV service which is pretty much flawless.
Over 7000 live TV channels.
All the BBC, ITV, CH4 etc have 8 days of catchup.
3000+ Movies.
3000+ Series.
UK based and 60 quid a year.
No need for a VPN here in Thailand....yet (Hasn't been for 3 years now).
I know a few folks in the UK need a VPN, but that's down to throttling by the likes of BT, Virgin etc.
If you want to know more, I can let you borrow an Android box for a couple of days so you can try for yourself.
PM me if you're curious.
