Baan Bar

Post by dtaai-maai »

Baan Bar is on Petchkasem well south of the flyover (about 7 kms), on the right just after the turn-off to PaknamPran. I've seen it and it's been recommended to me, but I haven't been yet.

Does anyone have anything to report?

Went there lat week with friends and really liked it.
They're still in the soft opening period - I think the official opening in next weekend.

The menu is only in Thai at the moment.

We had a good meal in very nice surroundings - very reasonable to cheap Thai prices.

It's a large open restaurant that has had a lot of thought and a fair bit of money put into it.
It belongs the guy that owns the second-hand shops on either side.
They also have a pen at the front with a few pet sheep.

The service was a bit slow but very friendly - however, as I said, they're just getting going.

All in all, well worth a visit - we'll certainly be going back.

Did I start this thread in After Dark or in Feeding Time?
Anyway, would someone please shift it to feeding Time, as it is a restaurant.

Went today for lunch, but it was deserted.

We visited Baan bar after seeing it a few times on the way home as we live just a few km's on the beach, then one night we decided to drop by. The place is extremely well appointed and to our surpirse there was a little room with a big Ducati sign... when we enquired we found out that the owner Tien, is a Ducati rider and so are we... We go to the place regularly these days... they dont serve "farrang" whiskey shots, but they have good Thai whiskey, excellent food, a very good selection of music and of course the environment is extremely well done.

Been there more than 10 times now and we have taken most of our Thai and Farrang friends from BKK and North, they all loved it.

I would definately recommend the place.
