Anyone own a boat?

Anyone own a boat?

Does anyone know the Thai Law on boat ownership?
If it's over a certain length you have to jump through all kinds of stupid hoops like getting a Thai boat captain & Engineer (ie paying him a set wage), getting it registered in a Thai name etc.
Anyone know what you can own without having to register the thing?

I read elsewhere on the forum about obtaining a captains cert for a few 1000's and your trailer has to be registered but assumed it's no big obstical, or are you takng about 40ft plus ?

I was more looking for info on importing myself
