Newbie In Town

Post by tonymoor »

Hi Everybody

Just wanting some ideas while im new in Town, obviously its a learning curve, however i want to make my early days as easy and relaxed as possible.

My background
Been coming to asia for the last twenty odd years for holidays..
Been in Aisa, Phuket and Bangkok for the last 18 Months or so.Mainly due to work, Bangkok i found was more of thai community/buyers market in Real Estate and i was banging my head against a wall on many occasions, trying to deal with developers/owners of properties etc..

Have decided after a short visit and a lot of re-search to try and work from Hua Hin.Computer based a lot of my work

Anyway ive found a half decent guest house for the first months rent, so below are a few questions, if you would be kind enough too help with your experience

Is their a communal swimming pool around the town or do you know of a nice hotel , thats allows you to pay a reasonable rate to use?

Where are the decent non bullshit , just freindly bars around, that are safe and respected by the local community?

Anyone know any good/reliable trustworthy small bike rental shops that deal with rental for a month at a time?

Hope to be a regular on the forum as i believe greatly in being part of a solid community

Regards

Tony

Hi Tony,

Welcome to the Forum. I'll start with a couple of answers, and I'm sure others will follow.

The pool which we often use is the one at Sport Villa, just a bit past Market Village as you travel South.

IMHO, the bar which fits your description is Johnnie Walkers.

Welcome to the forum

Agree with BB - Sport Villa Pool is good.

Richard - didn't know you could use the Condo Chain pool as non resident?

Bars - each to his own, the night life area is an obvious starting point. once you know a few people you may find they meet at other venues.

Dont know

Will check

Seems simple enough as the thoroughfare is a way to the beach and all sorts of people wander through. One flight of stairs brings you to the pool and no attendants there

Will talk to reception tomorrow

Turn up soi 94 and turn left at the train line - pool and gym etc on the right handside, supposed to be pretty good. For a full day Palm hills has a huge pool not sure daily cost now.

Nice bars - Billys, Bernies, JWs, Jungle Juice, Oneills you will find the ones that suit you within 1 drink!

Not sure about motorbikes!

Welcome to Hua Hin.

Condochain pool is supposed to be for residents only and I believe if you enter from the beach entrance there is signs stating that.
