Bangkok Hospital in Hua Hin

Post by barrys »

I was informed earlier today by what should be a reliable source that the Bangkok Hospital Group is building a facility in Hua Hin, starting as from now.

Construction is expected to take around 1 year, with a further 1/2 year or so needed to equip it and get it running.

Good news if it is true.

Have always used Bumrungrad in BKK but have also heard excellent reports about the Bangkok Group.

Let's face it - it MUST be better than the crap we have to put up with right now.

I think it is true, Terry

I was at the English-speaking Rotary Club meeting today and the guest speaker was an English-Canadian doctor from the Bangkok Hospital.

He gave us the information personally.

He also said that they hope to set up a clinic here first with transport facilities to Bangkok as an interim measure.

There is a substantial building just been started around Soi 92, could that be it?

Good news, it's been planned for some time, there was a thread about it on here last year.

There was an article about the Group in The Nation in May '08, which included:

That sounds about right as we heard it was going on the Petchakasem at the top of Soi 94 somewhere.

This sounds like good news

Hua Hin is really quite a big town now (what is the population?) and needs a serious modern Hospital

Those people living in the houses next door aren't going to be too thrilled. They'll lose any view, sun etc., and there will be a noise factor.

Bangkok Group is a pretty good outfit though. When they opened in Rayong they bought the houses next door and use them now as staff and visiting physician lodging.

If I owned one of those places, I'd serious;y think about getting out. Pete

Barry :)

Did the Canadian doc give you any idea as to what sort of facilities and specialities they are likely to offer, when they are fully up and running?

I only ask, because I would like to see a good Cardiology department in this new hospital. It would save a long and possibly fatal journey to BKK if they do.

The site indicated does not look all that big - clinic size. Getting in and out could be interesting in the late afternoon and evening what with the recently opened music high school and the open air market.

Hi Khundon

No he didn't say what sort of facilities would be accommodated - just that it would have a 50+ bed capacity initially.

If I can find out any more, I'll let you know.
