First Visit To Hua Hin

Post by Flannel »

Just finished my second trip to Thailand last month / this month, but spent 10 days in Hua Hin, and it was my first time there.

I would like to say what a great town, the best thing about Hua Hin was the Hilton disco, the reason for this is that it is such a terrible place, that I found my evenings being spent with nice meals and a few drinks instead of nights out all the time.

Liked the Market Village and also the beach was pretty cool too. I even didn't mind the afternoon rain sessions, but all in all, what a great place, I will be visiting again soon!!

No I mean stay well clear of the Hilton, overpriced and waste of time and money.

There are a few nice places to drink around there though. Nice meals at places like Mai Tai restaurant and a few other places, I really liked to eat there, Big screen for the footie too.

8) Having lived in Hua Hin from 2000- 2007 I can remember when it was a somewhat sleepy provincial Thai town. Back in the day early 2000's. The only ATM'S were at the banks on the highway. There were more Thai's than Farangs. The only franchises were the Baskin Robbin,. There were 3 or 4 7-11's .

Where the Market Village is is where they held some sort of Thai food festival,
Property prices were reasonable,so were prices. This was before the unbridled development. I returned in Summer 2009 and have to believe Hua Hin has to be one of the fastest growing areas in the world.

I regret having not invested (with Thai wife of 9 years) in Hua Hin.

It's good to hear such a positive report from a first time HH visitor, and I'm pleased you enjoyed the place Flan. Honestly truly I am!
Have to say though that as long as new visitors continue to frequent the Mai Tai and MV areas the rest of HH is left for the regulars, not so regulars and expats amongst us. No offence meant please - but others will understand
