tragic death

Post by raphoedon »

My brother died in a collision with a thai man, both on motor bikes. This happened day b4 yesterday, 4.00 am. According to the Gb consulate there was drink involved. We, as a family are devistated, have u any words of wisdom, not to console but to help us get my brother back. The accident was near Chawang beach in Samui.
With all the shit at swampy it took him three days to get there, and he lost his life on day 2.

Lenny RIP

Ps we r in Scotland and he lived in spain.Any links to a Samui forum, we need to find a Thai undertaker?

Very sad to hear this story. My heart go's out to you and your family.

If you type 'samui forum' into google there are a few that come up, but I'm not sure which one will best fulfil your needs. Best to have a browse yourself.

Raphoedon,

Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss. It is doubly difficult to lose a loved one when you are separated by so much distance and must feel helpless in making the arrangements to bring him home.

I will look around on the internet and PM you if I find anything that may help.

Raphoedon, sorry to here about your brother, mate is shocking news.
Have just found this site, may pay to contact them and see if there is any assistance that they can give you.
http://www.samuifunerals.org/contact-fu ... vices.html

Also from memory on my last trip (2 years ago), they started putting on brits as volenteers in the tourist police there. The numbers and how what to dial are shown on this page.
http://www.kohsamui-info.com/telephone/ ... tml#police

When you ring the tourist police ask if they have english/british members or anyone who has good english, that will make it a bit easier to be understood.
Also the British Consulate should be able to put you in contact with someone local to give assistance. I hope that can help you in some way,

My friend has just replied; there is apparently a lady (ferang) on the Island who should be able to help; as soon as she finds out the details I will pass them on to you.

raphoedon,
Very sorry to hear of you and your family's loss. The only advice I can think of that hasn't been mentioned here is to contact the British Embassy, who are generally very helpful and sympathetic.

While I feel awkward saying this now, when everything is sorted out and you have said your proper goodbyes, maybe you could consider posting about the practical details to assist anyone else who faces a similar tragedy in the future; I will suggest to admin that we put some sort of permanent 'sticky' thread with the relevant information, as the last thing anyone wants to do at a time like this is have to trawl around trying to find it.

Once again sincerest condolences to you and your family.

raphoedon,

Obviously a lovely guy, got a picture of your brother, a real fun guy who would do anything for his mates - life and soul of the party.
Also brings back sad memories of those friends we have lost here in a similar way.

Thoughts are with his family and friends.
