This is only my second year in Macau but I also noted that there were four storms around at the same time. I don't think, this is a common occurrence. It's also still warmer than usual at this time of year here in Macau. The Pacific Ocean must also be warmer than usually.

Actually, yes, it is a very occurrence. From South China Morning Post
Four storms emerge simultaneously in western North Pacific and South China Sea in November for first time since records began in 1961

I don’t know how widespread it was, but after returning to mainly sunshine earlier in the day, we had a major storm last night with lots of lightning and some of the loudest thunder I can remember - the rain was very hard too - our dogs were petrified!!

In Smorphrong, heard the thunder. Heavy drops of rain for about 1 minute.

Depending on your outlook we were either very lucky or unlucky then, because it must have been more than an hour of heavy rain together with regular (very loud) thunder and lightning

This year has been strange in the South China Sea with the typhoons that get past the Philippines heading west then curving to the south of Hainan and going ashore in Vietnam. This has resulted in the rain over Isan in most cases. So far none have been far enough south to get below Cambodia and enter the Gulf of Thailand as 'Gay' did many years ago causing havoc in Thailand. It looks like things will stabilize a bit in the Pacific now which will have a knock on effect over Thailand/Vietnam/Cambodia hopefully improving things.
No doubt soon Thailand will be suffering a lack of water which after the recent floods show that perhaps water management could be better.

Khaosod English

The Thai Meteorological Department announced that there will be heavy rains in Southern Thailand Dec 3-5:

A low-pressure system moving from the South China Sea will bring heavy rainfall to Thailand's southern provinces during December 3-5. Heavy rains are forecast for Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun, with very heavy rains expected in Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. Residents in low-lying areas and near foothills are warned to prepare for possible flash floods and overflows.

According to ThaiMet

Like October, November was wet(well the first half was) with 173mm versus an average of 81mm

We now 'only' 14% down on the year to date(having been down 40ish for most of it)

Yes agreed it was, hence my comment that the night I really needed them was Sunday
