Re: Domestic Flights from Hua Hin Airport

I wasn't using the VPN, but that could well have been the difference between success and failure. I think we probably have to put it down to another Thai website.

I see people requesting the alternate website several times each week on Facebook, because they (yes, you've guessed it) can't enter the destination. Not intending to fly, I take little notice, and they just fall off the bottom of the Facebook page forever. This trip was not planned.

Loy Krathong flights to North sharply reduced

https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... ly-reduced

Air passengers to northern destinations are advised to check their flights as airlines have either cancelled or changed many flight times during the Loy Krathong festival next week

Celebrations in the northern provinces feature the release of thousands of yi peng lanterns, which are considered a potential hazard to aircraft.

Airports of Thailand Plc said on Friday that 53 flights to Chiang Mai would be cancelled and 24 rescheduled from Tuesday and Wednesday, while 10 flights to Chiang Rai would have new times during the same period.

The airport operator did not give details about which airlines had made changes, saying only that its information was based on notifications carriers had sent it as of Wednesday.

But Nok Air and Thai Smile Airways confirmed on Friday that their schedules would change from Monday to Wednesday. Other airlines have not announced their plans.

Nor Air even said its updated schedule would include flights to Mae Hong Son and Lampang apart from Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.

The two airlines advised passengers to check flight times and said long queues at airports would be possible.

“Passengers who will be travelling to the destinations please recheck your flight time before the departure dates and spare your time for excessively long queues at the check-in counters,” Nok Air said.

Loy Krathong this year falls on Tuesday. In the northern region, the Yi Peng Festival runs from Monday to Wednesday..............

I don't want to worry you BB, but I've logged in again to the AirAsia website and still can't see any HH to CM flights. I've tried different dates. Could be a techno glitch ?

I think it's another wonderful piece of Thai coding. It took me many attempts to get it to accept my destination. I know others who could get it to work every time. When it eventually worked, I did exactly the same as I did on previous occasions. It was suggested at the time that switching your VPN on might help.

Probably written by the same. team who wrote the 90 day reporting code :banghead:

I don't have their app, I just go on their site AirAsia.com
Done it several times yesterday on a one way basic for some friends and on a return for our daughter, with 15kg registered luggage and without registered luggage and all worked fine, no problem at all

I've done the Hua Hin/Chiang Mai return trip this week. My first Hua Hin/Chiang Mai trip since Kan Air collapsed. What an efficient service, and full flights both ways. Hopefully they will increase the frequency if the service continues to be as well supported.

How about international flights to Hua Hin airport? I've tried to contact Phoenix group multiple times without any luck and the airport has no online contact I can find. Someone must know when the airport is likely to be ready in terms of international standards and what airlines are coming online beyond 'expressions of interest'?

Regarding cheap flights, from Aus -> Bkk I can't beat the current Jetstar pricing around AUD$700 return considering some short domestic trips along the east coast can cost more. If dates are flexible, around 2 months from now, the low fares are there hidden in between the expensive slots.

The only international flight that I know of that went out of HH was to KL. It was cancelled during Covid.

Very unlikely to be any international flights there until there is a full air industry recovery and all normal routes have resumed again (at least a year or two I reckon).

Air Asia did announce that the resumption of the flights from Hua Hin to KL would start in June this year and even sold tickets, a mate of mine brought a return flight, of course they never got off the ground, and the last I heard he was struggling to get a refund.

I flew to KL from BKK last week on Malaysian, the flight was full in both directions.
