Let me edit the above.....it rarely if ever is a Cambodian, Lao, Vietnamese or Malaysian......it's always a Burmese.....the age old evil enemy of the Thai and the ones the Thai cops seem to like to target.

The British embassy should put pressure on the Thai authorities for independent verification of the DNA. If they really want to try and insteal confidence back in tourism . I think this is a stitch up so's not to loose anymore face for being useless in their jobs and three migrants are going to be used as scapegoats whilst three very sick murderers walk free amongst us.

But after a grueling daylong interrogation after the first suspect who confessed implicated his colleagues.

The two later admitted to the crimes.
I bet the interrogation was not recorded as in other countries.

^ But I bet the murders were re-inacted in gory detail for the cameras.

In a nation where kiting, diving and other water sports abound, do you think they also do water-boarding?

Earlier in the day, Mr. Mark Kent, the British ambassador to Thailand, paid a formal visit to Pol. Gen. Somyos Phumphanmuang at the Royal Thai Police headquarters to personally congratulate him on being promoted to the post of commissioner of the Royal Thai Police.

While there, he was given updates in the developments of the murder case and expressed his satisfaction on how the case was being handled and his government would not interfere in any way with the investigation. Mr. Kent went on to praise the Royal Thai Police in solving the case and have shown exemplary professionalism as a crime fighting unit.

The British Ambassador later said “Thailand and the UK have always mutually helped each other in the past and the cooperation has always benefitted both countries. This new development reaffirms our confidence in both our countries abilities.”
Don't worry, we have the British Embassy watching our backs.

I don't feel entirely comfortable with all this 'whodunnit' speculation, but this latest report is full of holes. Putting aside the 'intensive interrogations in a safe-house':

I thought they took DNA samples from all migrant workers almost immediately? How did they miss 3 Burmese waiters from a nearby bar?
Win stated that he was curious and grabbed a garden hoe and went to sneak a peek of the couple making out.
"I was curious, so I grabbed a handy garden hoe"...?
The DNA test of the cigarette butts matched those found in the body of Ms Hanna...
I don't remember seeing this mentioned before - was it? Pretty crucial.

It seems to me that if these men are indeed guilty, they should have been arrested within a few days, not weeks.

Yes that was mentioned DM I agree with your post and must say the Ambassador seams to be a bit to cozy with the MIB.
