Absolutely mind-boggling that someone can take the time to be so vindictive.

Chris (Guess) stated once on this forum that we (he and I) had met back in 2004 or sometime around then. Sorry, I don't remember him but with all the trouble in his life lately, I feel really bad for him; but, as others I have read on other web sites that he and his wife have used their misfortune to their financial advantage.

Whether this is true or not I have no idea and I wish him well health wise, but I am a little curious why the one time most prolific poster on this forum has not posted in months.

Even Huahinsimon, who is paralyzed from the chest down has managed to get back on here so I can only conclude that Guess has disappeared from this forum for some (maybe) suspicious reasons.

Please, Guess, give us a personal report like HHSimon does so that we can know what the truth is. Your silence only adds to the suspicions.

HH Farang
If you read both Buks and BS Guesthouse's postings perhaps it might give you an idea as to the reason for the postings on the other forum.

I am sure the particular person who is responsible for the posting has been banned from HHAD some time ago and decided to post on his only other option where he could start to stir up things for Chris.

The postings only lasted a short time but had now been locked and as far as I know the original poster has been banned along with a couple of others as well who joined in along the way.
That should give you some idea of the credibility of what was said.

Going from what has been said and the fact that Chris has been in and out of hospital, plus the fact of moving house, I would say that perhaps he has no regular internet connection. I know that was a fact while he was in hospital, so would imagine the same now.

Anyway, why should he come on and comment on the shit that was written on the other forum.

I have spoken to Chris a few times on the phone and from what he and his wife has told me, there is no way are they having an easy time with his health and their lives, and to then go and read shit like that, it is not going to aid his recovery whatsoever.

HHfarang, if you want to go and believe what has been written, then that is your decision, but if you do decide that, it make you not better a person than the person who posted the original comments.

But I know hhfarang.
This is not true at all.

He has sold his computer in order to get a bit of money to buy food.
Is that a good enough answer because I can't give you any other answer.
That's the truth and simple facts.

hhfarang, we believe you when you write your comments about HHSimon and applaud you for your support. Chris too, was on death's door and we are so happy for both of them to be doing better. Since you seem to put such great faith in the comments from dubious contributors, perhaps we should follow your lead and accept the recent comments that were very critical of HHSimon but of course we wouldn't. We accept the honesty of the long established and trustworthy posters. Maybe you should re-visit the thread and re-read the comments and try to evaluate the honest posts. You normally seem very fair so you should be able to form a totally different opinion than the one you have expressed.

I'm in total agreement with the comments from Buksida, Norseman and Chelsea.

I'm very sorry, I just had heard comments made in person to me from Britons who live in Hua Hin that had the same suspicions well before they were posted on the internet.

I wish nothing but the best for Chris and I apologize for questioning the character of someone that is obviously so loved by many in this community.

i've seen the comments & i did ponder the implications.
it is easy for doubt to creep in no matter how informed or close you are & as many of us are not, it can raise the level somewhat.

just goes to show how easy it is to spread malicious gossip, without presenting yourself & without giving the accused a fair chance of defending themselves :( :(

i don't really blame hhf for questioning under the circumstances but hopefully things are a little clearer now for all to see.

though, i'm still trying to decipher buksi's cryptic clues as to the identity of the culprit  :cuss:  :D

ps
guess,
hope things are improving & life will become a bit brighter for you in the near future

To re-enforce the messages from Buksida, Norseman and Ken; I was performing a middle-man job with Chris' Family here in the UK, and I can assure you that Chris' promblems were/are very real.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

thanks to two of my 'insiders' (who shall remain anonymous ) for deciphering the cryptic message for me, via pm :thumb:

though, i don't know the individual involved & to be honest, i wouldn't really care much to know them. :?

Chris (Guess) hospitalised

Post by margaretcarnes »

I haven't visited other forums and don't have a clue who the perp. of all the BS is either. But that quote posted by BSGuesthouse recently which says 'income of 35,000 per month plus pension, hardly destitute' (presumably from 'Peter'?) is way out of order IMO.
No one, and I repeat No one, in HH, Bangsapan or wherever, can truthfully say that they know the income of another farang. And rightly so. As proved by the 'plus a pension' comment. As soon as the magic 'pension' word is uttered people jump to conclusions which are often way off the mark.
Also 35,000 is hardly a fortune these days anyway, especially when huge hospital bills have to be paid.
I am really sorry to hear that Guess has had to move to what does sound like inadequate accommodation, particularly for someone who is not in the best of health. Take care Chris if you read this. We wish you well babe.
BTW - HHF - in 2003/4 time Guess often popped in to Barrys old place - 'Lloyds' on Naebkerhardt, so you might have met him there sometime. Maybe at Tims leaving do or similar?

That's exactly the place. I had mentioned (on this forum) that when I first came J&B was my "local" and I was there nearly every day and he said that we must have met there. It could have been at Tim's going away as I was in attendance.

That place is certainly where I had my first Chang with Lomu!

I posted on the other forum and was jumped on. It was closed down pretty quickly after that. I always found the guy to be OK when I lived there. I will have to pop up to Bang Sapan when next over on the mainland. Lets hope he gets better soon

Just caught up with this thread, keeping up with hhf's many posts.

I also read through the many posts written while I was in ICU and in hospital. i got on computer again in January. I think I sent an email saying make Chris the sole bebeficiary of HHAD members largees. 35K was a nice amount. Dolly and I are not destitute and we think it is insulting that people should post nasty stuff like he should sell his truck or his wifes gold. I have not read "Peter's" posts on the other thread but I am guessing (no pun) that if you check the spelling and oft used phrases you will find similarities to Hokum on this thread and eagle eye, auto polot and PeterorBrenda who savaged Dolly and I on another thread.

I do not appreciate comments like the below from who i thought was a friend, saying essentially "don't show any concern for these people because they may have money. make 'em show their bank book." Thanks Khun Richard of Yorkshire, you have a good heart, as the Thais say.

On the one hand I agree but to me both Chris and Don surely are not destitute

Don't know if we'll ever know their personal circumstances but I do often wonder whether 'well educated streetwise farangs' would venture to Asia without some home country financial backup.

Having said that, I saw many fall in Zimbabwe who sold up at home and put all their eggs in the wrong basket

Slightly off thread I know, so, as you do and many others, we wish them speedy recovery and we will all do what we can to assist dependent on out own personal circumstances

OK Lindosfan, I appreciate your comments but hearsay or not it's worth posting for the good of the HHAD community

Think there are many people with question marks about Chris and Dons ability to pay their way. Obviously FACTS (financial status, hospital bills etc) would be a preferable posting but sensitive to the recipients of donated funds

No real solution really but all input surely is welcome

My own personal beliefs are based on evaluating hearsay and facts and forming my own opinion. As I've posted before and got flack for it, I never believe in one source of information/media. I read all newspaper and media sites to get a balance and as you all will know in Hua Hin you can get at least 3 different stories about a specific topic

I agree with SJ (below) Those who want to help will help. It's not the money that's the issue, it's the helping. Although for you its apparently the money. Did you keep your 500baht? with your attitude you would 'a been a downer at the party.

Agree RZR, those of us who know Guess may wish to help him out, it's our choice.
I couldn't care less whether he has/should of had insurance, has a truck or whatever, he's a decent honest bloke who many want to assist in whichever way we can.
Those who don't do not have to.

SJ

That's, IMO, THE CORRECT ATTITUDE. And Dolly and I have enough for a few years and a hand full of horse tranqualizers, so keep your money Khun R :thumb:
