Hello and welcome musungu.
Yep I have to agree about this Leak - could be offensive as banter is something else.
Still who cares the result will send him back to the pits

Steady on musungu.... it's only a bit of banter - although I can fully understand your attitude if you're a Lillywhite supporter.. :D

Rugby World Cup Divers Will be Sin-binned - and Could Face Bans

"Officials will crack down on examples of feigning injury and trying to con referees during tournament
Players at the Rugby World Cup will be sin-binned for diving and feigning injury, and could even be banned, as part of a crackdown on the “football culture” creeping into the game.
Anyone appealing to referees to award penalties also face sanctions, the chairman of the World Rugby match officials selection committee, John Jeffrey, revealed yesterday.
Players could be cited for such offences and given warnings by citing commissioners – the equivalent of a post-match yellow card – with repeat offenders risking a judicial hearing that may result in a ban."

In the Aviva Premiership I know the London Welsh went down after last season. Was there a second team that went down as well?.....and which teams came up? Trying to get my bearings. Pete

Only one team is relegated/promoted. As you say, "London Welsh" were relegated after a dismal season, "Worcester Warriors" were promoted.

I think it`s too late, everything went downhill since scoring a try was celebrated with a manly handshake or pat on the back was and replaced with girly hugging and rolling around on the turf. :cuss:

What rugby and where are you watching???!!

Please oh please show me any evidence of any "Girly hugging and rolling around on the turf"..... I'll defend it - even including "Beelzibub Rugby"..

Why I'm thinking of this ... BUT: -

Although as for cheating (apparently it doesn't exist in Wendyball)..... there was an infamous incident (feigning a foul) in a lineout in an international match many years ago - God's Own vs The Blackness and the Devil's Own ref in Roger Quittenton....Beelzibub won on that day. :(

What happened?

Just a bloomin`minute here Pharvey, I watch the Home Internationals and Aviva matches, perhaps you turn away when a try is scored against Wales but over-celebrations are part of the new game. And another thing about foul play, your byline quote from Ray Gravelle says it`s OK for your lot to indulge in shananigans but the rest of us have to shut up. Keep off the raki! Too late it`s already made you delusional

I have it on good authority (Google...) that that penalty was given for another offence altogether!

Anyway, it seems what goes around comes around... eventually!
1905 - The Bob Deans 'try'

After beating Scotland (12-7), Ireland (15-0) and England (15-0) the All Blacks were in sight of the Grand Slam in what was their first official tour of Europe.

A try by left wing Teddy Morgan put Wales 3-0 up at Cardiff Arms Park. Late in the game Bob Deans appeared to have scored a try that would have given the All Blacks the chance to win the game with a conversion. But by the time referee John Dallas arrived on the scene, Deans had been pulled back into the field of the play and Dallas ruled that he had been tackled short of the line.

Deans was so incensed by the decision he sent the following telegram to the Daily Mail: "Grounded ball six inches over line. Some of Welsh players admit try, Hunter and Glasgow can confirm was pulled back by Welshmen before referee arrived - Deans."

Deans, who died at just 24 from complications following appendix surgery, is said to have exclaimed on his death bed: "I did score that try in Cardiff."

So the English league then? Fair play, it's a good tournament,,,,,, But where does Wales come into it? Don't have a pop at Ray - a great man and a great family. He played rugby hard, but not dirty..... the way it is meant to be played. If you don't like the way the game is played, or the banter involved.... there's always Wendyball.

So ignore the fact that I watch the home internationals, banter isn`t a problem for me, Gravell was indeed a great player, I`m old enough to remember the great Welsh sides :cuss: but you have highlighted his philosophy of foul play being part of the game. And another thing, what`s his family got to do with it? We should all concentrate on Australia getting stuffed

^ Now, now, don't get all in a strop - I can understand it getting quite nerve-racking for the Dark One's Minions going into tonight's match - but come on, you might just scrape a win. :D :duck:

As I said, HARD... not dirty (or as you Lillywhites like to say "Foul" - never understood where birds came into it though). There'll be far, far dirtier players playing in red tonight though, believe me!!

Yep, sorry - had the "Quinell Dynasty" in my head then for some reason

Absolute b*ll*cks (a Kiwi Dive)..... and as an aside DM - if you ever visit Wales (of course welcome to stay with me), don't ever mention your views on this one!!

England 35 Fiji 11. I caught about 20 minutes before I fell asleep at the halftime break, and Fiji was representing themselves well. I think it was 15 or 18 to 8 at the half. I'll have to wait for a repeat to see what happened. Pete

EDIT: The BBC report: http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/rugby-union/34280965

This aspect even I noticed duringmy short viewing. My 20 minutes was about 1/2 ref down time.....

"It was a match too often dominated by the television match official, meaning an atmosphere that rocked Twickenham in the early exchanges was punctured by long and frequent delays. ....."
